Jenna Tales: Something Blue - book discontinued by Sounds Publishing - review by Aroused Goddess

Looking for something to jump start your erotic engine before bed? Then pick up a copy of this easy-to-read, bubbly collection of sexy tales|Jenna Tales: Something Blue edited and collected by famed adult star Jenna Jameson. Sure, the stories aren’t overly creative and there aren’t many ‘Wow, I didn’t see that coming’ moments, but they do get your thoughts off of work and onto more pleasant things as you slip between the sheets.

One of my favorite aspects of this book was the length of each story. In the past I’ve found that some “short” stories really weren’t so short, and by the time I finished reading them I was ready for sleep rather than sex. This collection is different. Each story is like a great quickie in itself - only a few pages long, gets straight to the point, and races to the finish - leaving you warm, tingly, and ready for some real action. Yum.

The sexual language used isn’t raunchy enough to be offensive, but it could border on shocking to more conservative readers. “Cock”, “fuck”, and “pussy” are staples of almost every page, so there aren‘t any fluffy romanticized euphemisms to contend with. Each sexual act is narrated in a way that leaves nothing to the imagination. However, the stories do gloss over the emotional and more nuanced aspects of sex, which I found a little frustrating. For example, some sexual acts begin and end in one paragraph, so there’s a familiar trade-off between depth and length.

The content of the book varies quite a bit and includes heterosexual, homosexual, and group sex with a few kinky twists thrown in for extra spice. To give you a better idea of how the book reads, here’s a quick excerpt from page 101: “He kicked the door shut behind him and fell on top of me on the bed…His kiss was so sensual we both groaned and abandoned all sense of foreplay. In seconds his thick, purple cockhead was nudging my nether lips aside…”

Also of note are the “Sex Tips” written by Jenna herself. Although the tips are a fun idea, most of them are more like obvious do’s and don’ts that won’t really add much to the sexual repertoire of most people. Still, they’re fun to read and many of them act as good sexual health and/or common sense reminders. “Be sure to clean the (anal) area first (before anal sex)” - Jenna Tip #2. “As with everything, talk together, make sure you both understand what it is you want and how you both feel, then go for it” - Jenna Tip #7. Clearly, you won’t become a sexual guru from reading these tips.
