Nothing is overlooked in this thorough guide to all things good sex. Author Sari Locker explains every sexual topic you may be curious about - from masturbation to polyamory - and does so in a succinct, nonjudgmental way. The book is an easy read, full of numbered lists and quick facts, but not lacking in substance.

Though it is geared at sexually active adults, progressive parents may find this the perfect book to introduce young teens to basic sexual health from the perspective of safety and pleasure. It covers so many important topics that are neglected by most high school sex ed programs: building healthy relationships, setting boundaries, media literacy, debunking myths and misconceptions, emotional well-being... the list goes on and on. It is also a good medium to introduce confusing sexual topics such as gender norms, homosexuality, and the interaction of sex and love.

For adult couples (and singles!), the book is more likely to function as a reference. Those who find themselves stuck in a rut or are having problems relaxing and enjoying sex will benefit from the straightforward how-to's and lists of ideas to add variety and maximize mutual pleasure. Some may just find the information fascinating - I built up quite a knowledge of statistics and sexual anatomy! If you do not know where you want to take your sexual exploration next, this book will offer plenty of ideas.

Couples already well-versed in a variety of sexual practices, however, will likely find little new information in this book. Those who already know their interests would be much better advised to pick up something more specific.

The writing in the book is light and fun, though it occasionally comes off as childish. There were very few things I disliked about the book (mostly that the chapters were arranged in a rather unintuitive order) - the bottom line is to determine whether it fits your needs. This book is like a basic encyclopedia of sexual practices and health. If you're already well in tune with your body and your partner, you may find the first half of the book redundant.

I find this book a little too amateur for my tastes nowadays, but I still recommend it for beginners. I appreciate the sex-positive language and lighthearted approach to sexuality.
