Story of Stupidity
The Story of O, or Histoire d'O, is a book about a woman's transformation into a submissive young slave. It was written by a French writer who wrote it for fairly odd reasons, which makes it understandable why it's such a horrid read. The book itself was so badly written that it truly made me feel sorry once I got to the end that I had wasted my time reading it. It was a frustration to read, and it isn't a good portrayal of BDSM, or any other, relationships.Published: February 26, 2010

I love your vocabulary
Thanks for the review! The examples and explanations you provided were illuminating. I don't know if I'll like the characters or writing style... seems almost childish. But, as you say, it was written in a bygone era and translated from its original French, so let's take it with a grain of salt.
The literary snob in me is shocked and offended that you didn't appreciate this classic but to be very fair it is fairly offensive by today's bdsm standards.

I just finished this book... I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. I've seen it praised to no end, and I thought there might be something wrong with me because I hated it so much! I got so aggravated because I'd have to read a paragraph of a sentence over and over trying to understand what the hell was going on! I thought I may have dropped to a 3rd grade reading level or something!
So thanks for the validation of my opinion hahaha. You're right, the example you provided is NOT the worst! Ughh, I'm actually annoyed just thinking about it...
