Threesomes, Foursomes and Bored some... So Sorry Penthouse.

Stories involving the scenes of more than two people can be incredibly hot. The majority of these are just descriptions. They may be real but a lot of them felt as if they were people either practicing writing or just hoping. The book is good, but I've read much better.

Pros
There are a lot of very brief stories perfect to read to each other or as part of foreplay.
Cons
These are letters to Penthouse or the Forum. They aren't well developed stories in general.

extremely useful review
I absolutely love reading sexual fantasies that push the limits in any way. Those that involve sex with more than just one partner. Penthouse says that this book is a compilation of letters and true stories. First and foremost, I just don't believe it. There are some really damn good stories in here, and they aren't written by *average reader* with his/her first time incredibly wild sexual experience. Some of the stories rings true, but some of it sounds purely like fantasy to me.

There are almost 300 pages and no table of contents so I'm clueless exactly how many stories are here. Most are 2/3 pages long, but there are many that are closer to about 10 pages. By the way- those are clearly the absolute best!

Who in the hell would go to the effort of a "letter to Penthouse" that was 3 small font typed pages anyway? Does Penthouse hold a contest for this stuff? I'm just guessing that people have too much time on their hands, a BIG SECRET exploding in their heads, or one hell of an active imagination!

Bottom line. I got bored. Since the majority of stories are of the form...

1. we/I thought/talked about
2. sex with other people/slut fantasies/etc.
3. It happened.
4. Graphic description, including quotes.

Most of the stories lacked believability or imagination to make them somewhat unique.

One example. Wife got husband reading Penthouse letters. She turned into slut, and picked up and fucked two black men. She's not satisfied ever after and he's loving it. Nice middle aged wife whose never been with anyone but her husband is all of a sudden yelling, "Fuck my big pussy, my big married white pussy! Fuck me hard. Fuck my slutty cunt all the way to hell!" I don't think so. This is just stupid porn.

One aspect of several stories that I absolutely hated was the entire BBC. Big Black Cock. OK fine, there is an attraction of some women to see if the myth is true. But fuck it, I don't believe it's anywhere near as prevalent as is showing up in these stories. (Excuse the vent!)

There are fantastic stories though. They are just harder to find. "Biker Bar Bang" was one that was extraordinarily well written. It does start with character development. Older couple, kids away, gotten used to riding their Harley's together, how's she's slimmed down and loves to dress sexier. They stop at a biker bar and she starts betting on pool. She fulfills a longstanding desire to become a slut, and ends with a tattoo from the bikers. It was hot.

A good book, and a lot of fun. Just don't expect the world's greatest writing consistently. Give up on reality from the moment you pick it up- despite the advertising!
Follow-up commentary
I haven't picked this book up since I first read it. After reading the erotic collections edited by Violet Blue or Alison Tyler (see several of my book reviews) I doubt that I will ever read another Penthouse collection in my life. These stories do not have the flavor of reality, and many felt like they were the same author.

In my younger days I really enjoyed Penthouse and not just for the pictorials. I really enjoyed reading *some* of the Fourms and the letters. I agree though, I don't think much of it is actually based in reality. Who knows how many of them are written by the same person as well which might be why there is a prevalence of BBC in the stories. With 300 pages though, I am sure there a few good stories that one could mark for return reading when the feeling strikes. Thanks for the great review.

Thanks Beautiful Dreamer and Jimbo Jones! My problem is that I love to read and unfortunately I actually remember most of what I've read so I'm always looking for new material. This is good, it's fun and I know that I'll pick it up to read bits and pieces of before sex sometimes. There's a lot of it, so it will last a long time. It's just not great. I may be unfairly comparing it to Taboo: Forbidden Fantasies because I've also been reading that recently, and that book is incredibly hot. It's one that you just don't want to put down.

Haha. Good title. I highly doubt most of what Penthouse publishes is written by people based on their 'real experiences'.

Hey Cock Wrangler. I think that's true enough (obviously) but the question remains... Why do they advertise based on it that way? And where do they get their writers? They put out a hell of a lot of material. It's not bad, it's just formula based.
