Scrub all the ickiness away

I love this sugar scrub by Body Language with natural ingredients. It has a nice non-chemical vanilla smell that does not linger on the skin after washing it away. It exfoliates the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth.

Use

The all natural sugar scrub by Body Language is designed to gently exfoliate your body by rubbing dead skin cells off leaving you with softer healthier skin. The ingredients shea butter, coconut oil, and macadamia nut oil deeply moisturize the freshly revealed skin. You can use it on your body or to target the roughest areas like your knees, elbows, and feet. Because of the oil base I would warn against using it on the face especially if you have problems with breakouts when using oil based products.

Directions: Massage gently into damp skin. Gently scrub, paying close attention to dry or rough spots; rinse and pat dry.

This product can be used in your bath or shower. On the label they have a caution note about how this product is oil based, and may cause your bathing area to become slippery so please be cautious when using. I have not had any issues with using it in the shower, but it's always best to pay attention to what you're doing.

As always with any bath and body product, please test this on a small patch of skin on your body if you suspect you may have a reaction.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The sugar in the scrub makes the product feel gritty, but that is to be expected with a product like this. The product has an oil base, but does not leave my skin feeling oily or greasy at all. You are able to see the sugar inside the container.

When I scoop out a significant amount out with my finger, a few clumps will fall off, but the majority of it stays on my finger. I found if you scoop out just a small amount, I do not have this issue. I believe the oils help the sugar stay together so it will stay on your body.

Taste / Aroma

My husband had two theories with the smell of this scrub. His initial reaction was that it smelled like vanilla cake frosting and then later he said the sugar scrub smelled like the candle aisle at the store. In my opinion, it doesn't smell strong like true vanilla if you've ever smelled vanilla beans before. I could not distinguish any hazelnut in the product, I just smell the lightness of vanilla. The wonderful aspect of this product is that it doesn't smell chemically. I always hate when I get a product that is overwhelming and has a chemical smell. This did not have that and did not give me any headaches.

Although the scent is strong in the jar, traces of the scent do not linger on your body for a long time after using it. It is subtly there for a small amount of time, but you will really have to bring your nose close to your skin to smell it. I prefer this actually because I don't wear scents very often. It also allows those that wear perfumes to be able to wear this without worrying about it clashing with their favorite scent.

Performance

The scrub goes on very easily in the shower and rinses away clean leaving your skin soft, smooth, and touchable. While rubbing against your skin, the sugar crystals will effectively scrub and exfoliate the topmost dead layer off. When you first put it on and start to rub it in, your skin is shiny from the oil base. The sugar cyrstals don't disappear until you wash them off, and once you are finished the product will leave your skin feeling soft. This product did a great job of exfoliating and moisturizing my skin, and I am very pleased.

It washed off very easily with water and I had no problems with it at all. The oils absorbed into my skin and did not leave my body with the initial shiny sheen to it.

Packaging

This comes in a 4oz (113 gram) container with two stickers on it. The front sticker has the Body Language logo and the product name. The back has directions, cautions, ingredients, and the Body Language website information. It had a seal inside the container to prevent the product from leaking out in transit.

Experience

This is my first experience with a sugar scrub and I thoroughly enjoy using it. I usually use St. Ives scrubs to exfoliate my dry skin, but I am really impressed by this sugar scrub and how soft it left my skin feeling. I plan on continuing using this product even after I run out of this product because I like it that much. I really like that it has very limited ingredients and that the product is composed of natural ingredients unlike my St. Ives which has parabens and other unnatural ingredients in it.

Here's a picture of the sugar scrub compared to the St. Ives scrub. As you can see, the St. Ives is thicker in consistency.

YAY scrubs!!! I too love the St Ives scrub not for my face anymore, but for my body along with others bought from Qtica. I bought the ginger and pomegranate one? (Simply Sensual. Had to get up to see the name) I really am impressed by this one.

And with the Vanilla Hazelnut one being almost all natural??? I think this is wishlisted to buy!!! I just hope it it not more than fifteen dollars!
