Love essentials kit - sensual kit by Kama Sutra - review by Lithaewyn

My lover and I truly enjoy this kit! It was our first Kama Sutra product, but will most likely not be our last. It works well for a more romantic time or even if you’re feeling a bit dirty; Love Essentials doesn’t necessarily limit it to a loving mood! But whatever atmosphere you use this in, it’s sure to be sweet regardless.

Upon first opening the package, I had to try the Honeysuckle (2 oz) flavored powder right away. It’s definitely sweet but is subtle and not candy-like. It also smells great and slightly exotic, but again is not overpowering. Application is easy and mess free; the feather duster is able to collect a good amount but does not fling dust into the air. The powder itself leaves a delicate shimmer so that you know where your partner’s body will be flavored. Even if it doesn’t all get licked away, it’s not messy and doesn’t distract from further play. A damp cloth is enough to remove any residue if necessary. One of the best parts is that even this small package will last forever!

Most couples will probably want to start off with the Oil of Love (.75 oz) for a gentle massage, but this is probably used best after playtime to further relax your partner before sleeping, before the dust, or without it altogether. It just doesn’t combine well with the dust, but is a great product on its own. The original version is a combination of chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon scents and also smells sweet but not overly potent. Even though they are water based, they definitely have an oily feel that isn’t absorbed into the skin very quickly, which makes this a great product for a massage! But also keep in mind that its oily texture can make a mess. It also gives a gentle warming feeling when your partner blows on your skin. It can be used safely on the genitals and is quite pleasant.

Even though the first two products were very pleasant and fun for us, the Love Liquid Sensual Lubricant (1 oz) fell a bit short of expectations. It is water based and safe to use with any material, and it therefore didn’t last long for my partner and me. Thankfully it only takes a small drop or two to get yourself or your partner quite slick, but reapplication can still distract from playtime. It may help to use a larger amount right away. Other than that it makes a great lubricant, since it isn’t sticky and also has virtually no taste or smell. Since it’s nothing beyond an ordinary water based lubricant, I wouldn’t say it’s worth the cost to buy a full size bottle (3.4 oz) unless this lube really works for you.

Overall, I am satisfied with this kit because it gave me a taste of what Kama Sutra has to offer and it will last a very long time. If you’re curious about Kama Sutra products but don’t want to spend a fortune trying them all (a .75 oz bottle of Oil of Love is expensive on its own!), this small kit gives a decent example of their products and what to expect.
