This lube is an excellent option and can replace your standard water-based lube. It's thick and jelly-like, which makes it suitable for anal applications. This is not a lube I would recommend if you are inclined to switch around from oral sex to other activities. It tastes absolutely vile. If you are familiar with horny goatweed and other medicinal herbs in this product, you will know better than to taste Climax Bursts for anything other than review's sake!

I like using Climax Bursts with toys because it's thick enough that it stays exactly where you put it. It does become a bit sticky, but I don't feel the need to immediately run and wash it off.

I would call this lube slippery rather than slick. I don't find that it excels at cutting down the drag of velvet cote or matte silicone toys in the way that more slick-type lubes do, but it is adequate in this application.

Where Climax Bursts really excels is its thickness. It's so thick it tends to be difficult to get from a very full bottle. This is a huge plus for me, because I know it will stay where I put it and not slide down to my butt--unless I want it there, which I probably do, because it's great for anal.

After using a copious amount of this lube for an extended session of toy time, I found that it got a bit sticky, but nothing I couldn't live with. It didn't make me feel like the shelf in the cupboard where I keep my honey, but maybe the shelf below it where I used to keep the honey.

There are little vitamin e "beads" in this lube, kind of like the beads in certain shower gels or face washes...actually, it is really reminiscent of a particular anti-acne product. The beads are slightly strange feeling but quickly "burst" upon application. The back of the bottle leads users to believe these disperse on contact, which isn't exactly true. They do disappear after rubbing the product in.

While it doesn't smell particularly interesting, this does have a vague water-based lubricant odour. I have a sensitive nose and was a bit concerned because the only other Climax Bursts I've tried is the toy cleaner, and I dislike its intense fake-flower scent. The lube has no added fragrance, which is a plus for sensitive people.

However, it does have a very loud taste for something that smells so vague and inoffensive. Very bitter, I immediately retched when I tasted this lube. Since I like to switch between oral and other kinds of sex many times in a single session, this lube will be in heavy rotation only in my solo toy times.

Even with lube-eating silicone toys with lots of deep ridges, I found this really works for me. While I normally favour silicone, I like that I don't have to plan my toys around my lube. We recently purchased a We-Vibe II and Climax Bursts works great with it. Unlike other water-based products, I don't find myself reapplying this one over and over.

While I don't intend to switch over to water-based lube entirely, I'm happy to have a different option that performs very well when I want to use silicone toys or don't want to deal with the messiness of silicone lube.

I haven't used this in the water, but it's thick enough that I might attempt to use it with my waterproof silicone toys.

Though it is infused with a couple of excellent herbal ingredients, keep in mind this is not a natural lube and it does contain methylparaben and propylene glycol.

All of the Climax Bursts products really excel in the packaging and appearance department. You can easily open and close this lube with one-hand by pushing up or down on the clear, round lid. The plastic "bubble" lid is large, sturdy, and lends a unique appearance. It looks like a toiletry enough that I leave it out without worrying about it screaming its intent when it catches the eye. I find it does look interesting enough to prompt nosy visitors to ask questions or play with it, however.

The ingredients and shelf life are printed in tiny black letters on the back of the bottle. It does say "Aphrodisiac Enhanced Lubricant" on the front in the same small font, but I still find it quite discreet.

I found one of the ingredients, L-Dopa, really interesting. It is related to dopamine and norepinephrine, the two neurotransmitters the anti-depressant Wellbutrin works upon. Wellbutrin is one of the few anti-depressants available in the US that doesn't cause sexual side effects, unless you count increased libido!

As an aside, in appearance Climax Bursts reminds me of Orbits, the clear sugary drink with gelatin "beads" floating throughout. As Orbits is discontinued as far as I can tell, I'm kind of giddy to have found something that reminds me of that bizarre and beloved childhood drink.

I really like that this is an "enhanced" lubricant that is actually more performance-based. I dislike sensitizing products that come in minuscule tubes that make me feel guilty for using an adequate amount. Not being a fan of intense warming lubes, I also found that Climax Bursts is excellent at providing a hint of warmth. I'm familiar with the herbs in this lube and actually take goatweed and ginseng in capsule form on a regular basis.

The bottle is a thing of beauty and completely suitable for my needs. I need a good lube that doesn't scream "K-Y! Rub me on your crotch!" because I have most of my sex out in the living room (due to issues with neighbours and thin walls).
