Lube XXX body and toy by MAKE GmbH

Lube XXX was my first experience with silicone-based lube. I had heard good things about how long they lasted, and was eager to see if it was true. Indeed it was–I tried it with a variety of toys (all non-silicone) and, I have to say, there’s really no comparison with water-based lubes, at least in the rear. With water-based lubes and anal toys, I always found that they dried up very quickly, whereas with Lube XXX I felt it would have lasted forever. Well, that’s probably not true, but certainly I gave out long before it did. It rates about equally with oil-based lubes as well (Boy Butter is my recommendation on that front). Completely safe with condoms, this should be a winner.

In addition, Lube XXX didn’t feel at all greasy on my hands like I thought it might–it was very natural, with very little smell. Anyone looking to use this for (ahem) massage sessions will not be disappointed.

The one problem is that it’s hard to control how much lube you’re getting from the bottle–the bottle is a stiff plastic with a little flip-top, and you have to squeeze it a little bit to get more than a drop or two out. Since the bottle is so stiff, though, and the lube fairly watery, it’s very easy to squeeze too hard and get more than you intended. Compare with Boy Butter, for instance, which is much more solid and therefore easy to control. I personally prefer sex and sex toys with more friction than most, so it’s important for me that I can control the amount of lube a little better. (This is also an important point for those of you who like to be frugal with products that run several dollars per ounce!) Also, if you get too much out it is likely to run all over the place and make a bit of a mess, and this stuff does stain sheets, so be careful. Nevertheless, I’d recommend Lube XXX for anyone looking to try a silicone lube without breaking the bank.
