Universal lube - lubricant discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by SimpleHedonist

I was really excited to try this lube, since to the best of my knowledge, it is the only silicone lube that is made to be safe with silicone toys. I tried my first silicone lube about a year ago, and can't believe I ever lived without it! I have a collection of pretty expensive silicone toys, and for that reason I have had to keep a bottle of water based lube around just for those.

While the idea of a silicone lube for silicone toys was very exciting to me, I was still a bit nervous to try it on any of my precious silicone "friends". So, when I received my Universal Lube, hubby and I tried it out without the toys first, to see what we thought of it.

Hubby started out by using some to rub my back--my third favorite thing to do with silicone lube. It felt amazing, not oily at all. One application kept my back lubricated for a very long and nice massage. The back rub did its job and led to my first favorite thing to do with silicone lube!

One application of lube kept things slick and comfortable for a rather long and energetic evening of fun with my sweetie.

Once I knew that I liked the lube, I put it to the real test--using it on one of my pricey silicone toys. For those of you that don't know, when a silicone lube is applied to a silicone toy it will sometimes get gummy or sort of dissolve the toy. I started out by trying it on my Silicone Finger Bunny, the cheapest silicone toy I own. I started by just doing a spot test, and got no reaction on the toy. I then proceeded to slather it all over the toy to see what would happen. Again, no negative reaction. Feeling pretty confident, I then proceeded to spot test it on some of my more expensive toys. I went through every silicone toy I own, and had no negative reaction with any one of them!

Since my super scientific testing session, I have used this lube to play with a few of my good silicone toys and have had no problems at all. I have even used it on my super expensive friend, my Jopen Intensity.

I feel pretty confident saying that this lube lives up to its promise to truly be safe on silicone toys! That said, I would still encourage you to spot test it on a non-essential spot of your silicone toys just to be sure before you slather them up in it.

I have tried many silicone lubes, and have found a lot of them to be very thin and oily, this lube was neither of those things! It comes out of the bottle almost like a clear hair gel, and can be used without too much worry of spillage.

It feels very natural, especially once it warms to body temperature.

This lube has no noticeable odor at all. Being that it is a silicone lube, I personally would not put it in my mouth, due to the fact that silicone is not digestible or safe for consumption, so I have no idea what the taste might be like. I would strongly recommend washing this lube off completely before any oral sex.

This lube stays slick and smooth for a very long time! I have used it for massage, sex, and play with toys, and never once have I had to reapply for any of those activities.

When used for a massage, it left my skin feeling very soft. There was no sticky or oily residue, in fact it felt as if it absorbed into my skin completely. When used for sex and toys, I also felt no real residue of any kind, and when showering it took no extra washing to remove the lube from my body. As far as cleaning toys, it took no more than a good rub down with some Eden toy wipes to get them clean.

I did end up getting some on my sheets, and was a bit worried about a stain, but after a quick washing there was no evidence of the spill.

Silicone lube is condom safe, and this lube is also glycerin free for those who are sensitive to glycerin.

I love how this lube lasts, and how smooth and non greasy it is!

I love the cute oil can bottle that this lube comes in! It seals tightly, with a flip top style cap. It is very easy to dispense, and can be done one handed. I have accidentally rolled over on it in bed, and it did not spill or open.

The packaging is not exactly discreet, as it does not look like something you would normally find in your bathroom, but more your garage. It does clearly state that it is a lube that is toy safe on the front label.
