Backseam fishnet thigh highs - thigh highs discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by Lady Neshamah

My definition of sexy tends to be very vintage. Things that were very popular from the 1850s to the 1940s is where I pull from. A woman in a corset, bustle and stockings matched with a garter belt under a lovely dress is very sexy to me. It takes time and talent to put it all on and it means to me that the woman cares about working in the time period and keeping true to it.

I've had a lot of backseamed stockings over the years. Most of them are the classic silk stockings that are held up with a garter belt. I have even done the WWII style of just drawing line up the back of the leg when I have done early 30's fashion. (As a note, most women just drew the line up the back of the leg because they couldn't afford to actually buy the stockings and they wanted to keep in the style.)

But I was needing fishnet backseamed stockings for a costume that I am working on so I picked up The Backseam Fishnet Thigh Highs in black. They are modern fishnets and they are made out of nylon. The elastic is at the top of the stockings and they do stay up on your legs. They are very easy to wash by hand with light hand soap, or if you have a very delicate cycle on your washing machine, you can do that as well.

The tradition of the backseamed stockings is to make the legs look longer and I have short legs so I do need them. The Backseam Fishnet Thigh Highs really did help make my legs look longer in heals. The backseam actually stayed put on my leg once I had them on. Sometimes they backseam will shift with stockings, but these didn't move at all.

The only real problem is that they elastic was very tight on my upper thighs. The elastic would also roll some as I moved. I would think that any woman that is plus sized may want to just cut the elastic off and use a garter belt. I know that I am going to be doing that with mine. Besides, I am going to need to have them like that for the look that I am going for in the costume.

I have manage to stretch out the top of my Backseam Fishnet Thigh Highs. They fit sooooo much better now and are still sexy as all hell.
