Plum jeweled babydoll - babydoll and panties set by Escante - review by Breas

The Plum Jeweled Babydoll by Escante is a simple, pretty lingerie piece. I usually buy pieces that are much more complex than this. Give me ruffles, bows, sequins, rhinestones and more! I bought this piece because I really loved the plum colour of the babydoll in the stock photos; purple is my favourite colour. Also, I love anything that sparkles so I really liked the rhinestone accents on the shoulder straps.

The Jeweled Babydoll is available in sizes S-XL. I purchased the size XL. There are also two other colour options available: wine, and black. The black colour option seems to only be available in sizes L and XL right now. The babydoll also comes with a matching thong (the product page says g-string, but that is not what I received).

The babydoll arrived folded neatly beneath hot pink tissue paper. That was the only packaging that this piece had. The babydoll did have a cardboard tag attached it. The tag had a photo of a model on it, and the brand name. I’m not sure exactly why this tag was attached to this piece, because the model in the photo was wearing a completely different outfit (not the babydoll).

When I had taken the babydoll out from beneath the tissue paper, I noticed that there was a difference in colour compared to the stock photo. The stock photo makes the entire babydoll look one solid colour. This is not the case. The only “plum” colour is on the chest cups. The cups are the darkest part on the babydoll. The sheer material that drapes down from the chest is a lighter purple colour, and then the chest trim, shoulder straps, and bow are a light purple (the lightest of the three different shades). I didn’t have an issue with the difference in colour because I love any shade of purple, but figured it was important to note. Below you can see the colour differences.

The babydoll is 100% nylon, exclusive of decoration. The entire babydoll is stretchy, except for the cups. The cups are also the only non-sheer parts on the babydoll. There are two elastic bands that run around the back of the babydoll as well. The 2 elastic bands measure 1 ½ inches apart from each other at the very back of the babydoll.

The shoulder straps on the baby doll are extremely stretchy, and they are adjustable with a clear plastic clip. There is a clear, plastic clasp that is located between the chest cups that you can use to take on, and take off the babydoll. The clasp attaches to a small fabric loop inside of the babydoll. The bow on the front sits right in front of the clasp so you cannot see it when it’s being worn. Below is a photo of the undone babydoll so you can see the clasp I am talking about.



The cups have padding in them and there is also an underwire. The cups are very comfortable. Usually when I order a size XL, I have a bit of room in the cups (I wear a C 38), but with this babydoll, the cups fit snugly to my chest. If you have a larger chest, the cups may be a bit small for you. The thong that is included with the babydoll does have a lining in it, and it’s quite comfortable.

The rhinestone accents on the shoulder straps are sparkly and pretty. There are 2 rows of rhinestones on each strap, with 5 in each row. The rhinestones seem to be quite secure, but you could always coat the rhinestones with a clear nail polish if you wanted to. You can see an up-close photo of the rhinestones below.

The babydoll was really comfortable when I had worn it. The material didn’t irritate or bother my skin at all. The fact that it is extremely stretchy also made it that much more comfortable for me. My partner really liked the piece on me, and he said that he loved the colour as well.

The care tag in the babydoll states that the piece should be hand washed separately in cold water, and is to be line dried. The outfit should be wrung or twisted. If you need to use bleach, only non-chlorine bleaches should be used. Lastly, if you need to iron the babydoll, this should be done on low temperatures only.

Overall I’m happy with the babydoll. I still prefer my complex pieces of lingerie over this one, but it’s nice for when I want to wear something simple. The babydoll is so comfortable and I probably could fall asleep wearing it. I’ve given the babydoll a 4 out of 5 rating. The reason the babydoll loses a star is because it is not available in plus sizes, and also that the cup sizing seems run a bit small.

It's still a nice outfit but I really don't wear it often. It's a bit too simple for my taste. It's held up really well though. I'm a bit lazy so I've thrown this outfit into a lingerie bag and into my washer on the cold water setting (more than once). It's still in great condition.
