The Monique Corset by Dreamgirl is a very sexy, sophisticated and high quality garment that has unique details and very classy features. This corset is perfect for wearing in public, formal events or for your oh, so sexy moments. There are actually two looks you can get from the Monique. You can make it reversible, (just make sure you remove the tags and hanger ribbons)! The intended look is very beautiful and classy, the reversible look is very trendy and a tiny bit goth.

The corset material is 100% Polyester. The black inner side material is lightly shiny and super soft. It feels great next to your skin. The outer material has an extremely shiny pink/lavender hued satin material with a flat black, curlique 'lace' over the satin. The 'lace' is fused to the satin with chain stitching inside every curlique. The satin looks like it changes colors when the light hits it, the color starts out pink and shimmers to a pale lavender hue. This is amazingly pretty!! The plastic boning is covered by sturdy black satin material. There are two rows of lace along the top and bottom of the corset with a black satin edging over the top an bottom edges. There is a super soft black felt privacy panel behind the 19 front hooks. There is no privacy panel in the back.

One of the unique features of the Monique is the 3 lacings, this allows for tighter lacing up the back with looser lacing at the hips. The small adjustments really make a huge difference in fit and adds major appeal to the design. There is the basic full-back lacing with two 1/4" satin ribbon laces, and a small, 4 1/2" lacing over the hip area on each side, also with 1/4" satin ribbon laces. The back lacing is made from a sturdy, but nice looking, polyester 'canvas' material. It resembles the material used in super light gym bags. The lacing on the sides are a heavy cotton weave, like the material used in zippers. All three lacings have small, silver, metal grommets. The sides are five tall (total of ten), and the back 11 for a total of 22.

The seams are very well sewn, no loose threads, crooked seams or mis-alignments. The boning is plastic, but you can remove it and purchase metal boning from a corset supply store. Just place an internet search for corset boning store, there are a few reasonable stores with many different options of boning materials to choose from. I am doing this with every corset I own.

I ordered a Size 38, I wanted a very tight corset and do not mind a bit of an open back. I was able to lace up tightly and looked super curvy. It did not flatten my breasts, there is a light curve for your breast area sewn into the design of the corset. This trimmed my waist measurement down to 29".
My measurements: 43D Breast, 30 Waist, 41 Hips and I weigh 150 lbs.

The washing instruction tag says to Dry clean only. I am going to hand wash this corset and let it air dry. I would NOT machine wash or dry this garment, the fine details would probably get ruined.

I absolutely love this corset! The fit is phenomenal, I actually got my waist down to a 28! The added detailing has really made the difference between a really pretty corset and a stunningly sophisticated and sexy garment. I paired this with a skinny, black skirt, black satin bolero jacket, nude thigh high stockings that have rhinestone bows on the ankle and heels for a wedding a few days ago and received an amazing amount of compliments.

My husband is always wanting me to wear this corset, either around the house, in bed or just to run to town. It has become his absolutely favorite 'turn on' outfit as well!!

The quality of the garment, plastic boning aside, is still extremely high. There are still no lose threads or other factors of sloppy workmanship in regard to the Monique. If you are looking for a beautiful, quality and versatile corset, this one is worth getting.
