Bustier dress, hose, and glove set - chemise discontinued by Escante - review by Femme Mystique

The bustier dress, hose, and glove set from Escante is a classically sexy design with a few new and unique features. The chemise is black satin and is surprisingly short in length. I'm 5'6" but have a fairly average length torso. I didn't feel like the length was an issue for me, but it may not cover everything on taller women. The chemise has elastic garters and bra-type straps with small black satin bows, though neither of these features are removable. The chemise has a ruffle hem at the bottom, which is pretty and so far lays flat. There is also a large cut-out below the bra band in the back.

The bra band has two rows of hook and eye closures, and you can adjust the band to three different sizes that way. Below the first opening on the back is another, much smaller cutout, which is triangular. This also comes with a set of matching gloves and stockings. The seams throughout use a decorative zig zag stitch for a little extra visual appeal.

I guess I was too blinded by how much I liked this chemise to notice how small the cups are, even in the product photos. This is not for women with larger busts, so pay close attention to the size charts. I ordered the medium, for which the measurements are listed below, with my measurements in parentheses:

I'm all over the place on Escante's sizing chart, but except for the cups, this chemise fits comfortably and looks flattering. I don't think this runs true to size, however. I'm a size 2, and the medium is supposed to fit sizes 6-10. The chemise fit pretty tightly all around, and I really can't imagine it would fit any bigger than a 6, so I'd suggest sizing up if you are at the upper end of the measurements for each size. The top is for a B-C cup, but it would have to be a pretty small C to fit into this top. Even so, there would be ample cleavage. As a D/DD, this top wasn't even close. Because of the way the top is constructed, if your breasts are two big for the top, the cups will make them look cut in half and pointy.

This chemise is constructed out of a stretch satin. Satin can be made from silk, polyester (most commonly), and nylon. I assumed from the product photo alone that this would be polyester satin, but it is nylon satin. Nylon satin has the same shiny appearance as polyester satin, but it is typically softer and thinner, as you will see with this garment. Because of the more delicate materials used, this should be hand washed and hung up to dry. The included stockings are also nylon. The are very thin and seem as though they will run very easily. The set also contains gloves, which are nylon as well, but they are not a satin weave. They do have a somewhat glossy texture, but they are not as nice of a nylon as the chemise. They look nice from far away, but the gloves have a pretty cheap feeling.

Overall, the chemise would be really sexy on someone with smaller breasts. The gloves and the stockings don't really add much because of their lower quality construction, but the chemise alone or paired with some nicer stockings and/or gloves makes a very sexy and comfortable bedroom outfit.

I'd give this set four stars. Though it does not fit my breasts in a flattering way, the size chart warned me that it was not made for someone as busty as I am, so I can't really deduct for that. I would deduct for the sizing of the body of the garment running small and for the added accessories being constructed of disappointingly cheap materials. Though the chemise seems pretty well-constructed, the gloves snag easily. I suggest ditching the gloves or buying your own and providing your own stockings. This chemise looks great with a pair of classic black heels. You can accessorize this to look several different ways. Paired with gloves, a long, knotted pearl necklace would look fantastically classy. Because of the open neckline and simple design, this would also look great with a lace choker or a more elaborate necklace. Here is how I've chosen to accessorize mine. The gloves and stockings are the ones provided, though I think next time I will wear my nicer, lace top set and leave the gloves off.

I wish I loved this, but the top is really not even close. Upon trying this on again, I have decided that I really think the medium won't fit anything larger than a B cup, meaning the cups are probably even smaller than the size chart indicates.
