Precious metal gems vibe - vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by Lovers Love

The Precious Metal Gems Vibrator in 6" has proved itself well worthy of my admiration. The Gem, my one and only full size vibrator, is a real multi-tasker. Insert this golden pleaser into the vagina, or better yet, press it softly against the clitoris for a real platinum delight. You could even use the Gem for anal play if you so desire.

Its large size targets more areas than one, which isn't something you always get out of a standard vibrating bullet. You have the advantage of sliding its full length, reaching all spots at once. If you prefer to address one specific area instead, the Gem can cover that too. With its rounded, slightly pointed tip you can aim easily and effectively.

Though California Exotics, the makers of The Precious Metal Gems Vibrator, may not have intended its pretty jewel cap to serve any real purpose, I suggest otherwise. When powered on, the crystal gem cap emits light vibrations that are simply perfect for foreplay. Have your partner massage the jewel around the most sensitive areas of your neck and even ears, and be amazed. This technique works well on other body parts just as well.

The Gem, though made of plastic, is a bit heavier than you may expect. It's no metal equivalent but the added weight is nice in comparison to many other plastic vibes out there. The golden, metallic coated ABS plastic is entirely smooth and seamless. The black jewel adorned cap is the only textural portion of the vibrator. This helps you grip the cap and open the battery compartment more easily. It is actually a very convenient element that I can appreciate. Nothing makes me more annoyed than simply not being able to get the battery compartment open in the heat of the moment!

There is absolutely no noticeable scent, even when put right against the nose. At room temperature, the Gem is cool to the touch. As long as you keep the temperatures reasonable, you could actually dip the Gem in either ice or warm water for a bit of temperature play. The ABS plastic is designed to stand up to heat, impact, and even chemicals. It is often used for piping as well.

There is just something I love about gold. I know its not for everyone (which is perhaps why Cal Exotics made it in metallic and bronze as well), but it's a color all its own. The Gem knows how to stand out, so wherever it goes, eyes are sure to follow.

The Gem is approximately 6 inches or 15 centimeters. Its size makes it a little difficult to guide during certain positions, meaning it's not quite as maneuverable as a bullet would be. However, the size has its advantages as well. Being that the Gem is a thick 3 1/4" around, it feels filling and firm when used vaginally. The size is pleasing but not huge, which is why I think this vibe would work well for beginners but could also be enjoyed by the experienced toy user as well. Grab two AA batteries (not included) and you are good to go!

The Gem is very simple to operate. You turn the dial knob counterclockwise to go through the different speeds. Although the Gem states that it is multi-speed, it does not designate exactly how many. I counted three with very smooth transitions between each one. The vibrations are powerful and you don't really get a warm up speed. Be prepared for things to get serious and quick! If you turn it up all the way to full blast, it really starts to tremble (as will you). Unfortunately, with all this intensity comes quite a lot of noise as well. The Gem prefers to cover up your moans and screams of passion with its own noisy hollers. Not fun.

On the upside, the Gem is waterproof. When I used this vibe in the shower some of the noise was masked by the beating water as it fell from the shower head. I did get a little nervous however, when I dropped the Gem on the shower floor. Thank god she survived!

Plastic is easy enough to maintain. I use a bit of soap and warm water to clean up after use. From experience, your rarely go wrong with soap and water! If you have some toy cleaners handy, they will work wonders as well. As long as my golden Gem doesn't tarnish, I will be doing good!

I chose to keep my Gem stored in the original package because it is slim and small enough not to take up too much space. That is, what space I have left. I could definitely use a multi-toy case or container right about now.
