Bedroom Kandi Make Me BoredI really wanted to love the Bedroom Kandi Make Me Over by OhMiBod but I just couldn't. It's a fairly high price tag for a toy that isn't whisper-quiet like the packaging states, is not waterproof, only holds a 1 hour charge, and doesn't have much power. On the highest setting, you only get a 3 out of 5 vroom level. The appearance of the toy gets a 5 out of 5. It's sad that the performance wasn't as good as the appearance.
The thick storage box is very discreet. The top of the box has the BK logo in a gold colour and the box is black. The included manual, case, USB charging cord, and toy are inside of this box. The bottom of the inside of the box is lined with a silk-like material. It’s a beautiful way to present the toy.
The toy is made of silicone and the case/charger is made of ABS (plastic). The silicone is smooth to the touch. The vibrator does not have any flexibility to it. The charger/case is black with gold coloured accents. The case stands 2 inches tall and is 3 ½ inches in both width and length. It’s a fairly large case so if you carry a small purse or clutch, it may be a bit too large to carry with you. There is a circular mirror on the top inside of the case. The mirror makes it look that much more like a powder compact case. It’s adorable!
The vibe is pink on one side and black on the other. The pink side has a subtle texture to it. This side also has 2 gold coloured pieces at the centre. The gold coloured rings are what are placed on the charging pins inside of the compact case to charge the toy. The vibrator is in the shape of a circle. It is approximately 1 inch thick and has a diameter of approximately 3 ¼ inches. The toy is much smaller than the case. If you carry a clutch or small purse, you could definitely carry the toy with you (without the case).
The black side of the vibrator has the BK logo and the company name on it. This side also has a stretchy band on it that you can use as a handle. The band is very stretchy so it should fit just about anybody. This backside also has the 2 buttons that control the vibrator. There is a bit of drag to the silicone so you may want to use a lubricant with the toy. Being silicone, only water-based lubricants should be used with it. Also, the toy is not waterproof so it should not be brought into the bath or shower with you.
The toy will need to be charged when it first arrives. The instruction manual states that it takes 2 hours to fully charge the toy and that it holds a 1-hour charge. To charge the toy, the vibrator sits face down in the case so that the black side is facing upwards. The USB charger plugs into the back of the compact case with the other side of the charger plugged into your computers USB port. The charger cord is approximately 32 inches in length. You’ll know that the toy is charging because there is an LED light that will blink on the top of the toy. I had kept the toy charging for an hour or so more than the suggested charge time. I had assumed that the light would stop blinking once the toy was charged but it didn’t.
As I had mentioned, there are 2 buttons on the backside of the vibration that control the toy. There is a plus sign (+) and a minus sign (-). To turn the toy on, hold the plus sign (+) down for 3-5 seconds. The toy has a total of 7 patterns to it. Once the toy is on, you can cycle through the patterns by clicking either the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons. Once you’ve reached the seventh setting, you’ll have to press the minus button cycle back through the patterns. The seven patterns are as follows:
1. Low, constant vibration
2. Medium, constant vibration
3. High, constant vibration
4. Escalating from low to high to low and repeat
5. Medium speed pulses
6. Quick pulses
7. 2 medium pulses then a long one and repeat
You can turn the toy off at any time by holding that minus button down for 3-5 seconds. When you turn the toy off and then back on, you’ll be back at the first setting regardless of where you had left off. One of the features stated on the packaging is that the toy is whisper quiet. This is not true. On the lowest setting (first function), the toy can be heard from beneath the covers but not a closed door. On the highest setting (third function), the toy could be heard through a closed door.
The vibrations are more rumbly than buzzy. I prefer rumbly vibrations but I also need strength. On the highest setting, you’re only getting a 3 out of 5 vroom level. The vibrations can be felt throughout the entire toy. I didn’t notice one part of the toy where the vibrations seemed prominent. This toy isn’t one that you’d want if you need pinpoint stimulation. I actually found it a bit awkward to hold the toy flat against my clit. The handle is nice but I guess I’m just used to toys with a smaller surface. Below are a couple of size comparison photos of both the vibrator and case beside a 355mL can of pop.
Cleaning the toy requires a bit more work because it is not waterproof and it has the texture. The manual states that the toy is “splash proof” so you can use a damp washcloth and soap, toy wipes, or a toy cleaning spray to clean the toy. Just don’t submerge the toy in water because you could ruin it. The toy can also be sterilized by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol or a bleach/water solution. The compact case and/or storage box that the toy comes with is perfect for storing the vibrator.
I think the toy is really adorable but it probably isn’t a toy I’d recommend for a few reasons. Firstly, the price is quite high. For the regular price of almost 90 dollars, I’d expect the toy to be waterproof and quiet. This toy is neither. I also think that the charge it holds should be longer. Charging the toy for 2 hours isn’t bad but it should hold more than a 1-hour charge. Some people wouldn’t even make it through an entire session before needing it to be charged again. Lastly, the power is so terribly weak. If you’re sensitive to vibrations, you may find the toys power acceptable. If you’re a power queen like me, you’ll be deeply disappointed.
