Lucid dream no. 5 - egg discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by *Ashley*

I recommend the Lucid Dream No. 5 for beginners only. The more advanced will more than likely be let down. I personally require quite a bit of clit stimulation. So those of you who need the strong vibrations, stay away! On the other hand the size of this toy is quite nice. Also, the long wiring to the remote is great for you to use alone or hand over to your partner.

This toy can be used for deep vaginal and clitoral stimulation, as well as nipple stimulation and any other sexual spots wanting to be teased. Beware though, I strongly recommend against anal use! The wiring looks flimsy and could come apart. Not something you would want to experience if it where to snap off in use. You can use this toy to tease your anal area, just don't insert.

The Lucid Dream no. 5 is made of a smooth jelly, bringing its safety down to a 2 out of 10. This toy is pleasantly smooth and it does have a rubbery feel, scent, and taste to it. The scent isn't that strong unless held close to your nose. As far as the taste goes, it tastes like it is and that's jelly/rubber.

The bullet is swirled and very firm, not giving at all. Once wet it is hard to keep in place, becoming very slippery. The swirled texture didn't do much for me. Being that I couldn't tell it was swirled when in use.

The wiring for this toy is made of a thin, long and smooth plastic. The control pack is also made of plastic but has a smooth velvet-like texture, making it easy to hold onto.

The design of this bullet is quite nice. I'd say its about the size of an egg but with 3 tasteful swirls added to it. It is a golden-pale yellow color. Something I can relate to is lemonade or a yellow Gatorade.

This toy is a fairly large bullet vibrator. With its 2 1/2” length, 5” circumference and 1 1/2” in diameter its size will not let you down. The bullet does hold some weight, giving its size. The cord fully stretched out is measured out to be 30 1/2” long, giving you plenty enough to work with.

Based on the size I would think beginners as well as advanced users would enjoy this toy. Based on the vibrations I'd think that this is more suitable for beginners, unless you are sensitive to vibrations. For me I felt as this toy left me wanting more.

The size of this toy I wouldn't say is discreet, but done with caution it can be hidden or traveled with. It is after all a bullet and not a dildo or anything big like it.

The Lucid Dream No. 5 is an easy toy to figure out. It is powered by 2 AA batteries. The controller has just 2 simple on and off buttons in the shape of arrows. The buttons are firm but not hard to push. So you don't have to worry about it accidentally turning on. The remote has light indicators letting you know what level you are using. The vibrations go up to 4 speeds. Keep pressing the on button for the highest vibration, push the off button to ease your way to the first setting and finally shutting off.

There aren't any kind of vibrating patterns or pulsations. The first level being the lightest of vibrations and the forth being the strongest. I found the vibrations to be pretty weak. I do require strong vibrations to get me off. Even pushing as hard as I could on my clit or g-spot (without hurting myself) they still weren't strong enough for me, even on the highest setting. I think that the jelly material over the bullet softens the vibrations. The strongest vibrations seem to be at the tip of the bullet. Still this toy was just a tease for me. Its good for foreplay or getting yourself ready for something bigger, being another toy or your partner.

The bullet is pretty quiet, I'm sure the jelly helped out with that. It can't practically be heard at all when it is inserted, even on the highest of settings. But when completely quiet I can still hear a little hum. This bullet claims to be virtually silent, but I claim other wise. It is on the quiet side, but I can still hear it pretty well on the first setting and only getting louder as to head to the forth level. It is a water proof toy and that seems to work just fine for the bullet. I would trust having the controller in the water though. The bullet is fine to submerge under the water but I think the controller is only splash-proof. Also make sure the you have the controller completely twisted shut before taking a bath with it.

Since the Lucid Dreams No. 5 is made of jelly can't be sterilized like silicone, so no boiling water. Wash with warm water and mild soap. Also make sure you clean the ridges well so you don't leave behind and kind of bacteria. You can also clean with a toy cleaner if you have one. I urge you not to share this toy since it can't be sanitized. If you're really wanting to share this toy be sure to always use a condom.

Be sure to store in a cool dark place. Be sure to keep this toy separate from other toys because material types, like the jelly's and Silicone, will melt all over each other! Who wants that!? I have this toy stored in a plastic bag to keep any lint away. Remember that all vibrators should be stored WITHOUT batteries to prevent battery drain and leakage. Doing this prolongs your batteries as well as your toy.

Note that you can use water-based as well as silicone-based lubes with this toy.

The packaging of this product is basic. It is a clear package with blue, white, and peach-orange writing and design. The name is displayed in nicely white letting with sparkly blue background around the words, adding peach color decoration around it. The package is very pretty to look at. It opens at the top easily.

-On the front of it gives its name, the companies name, and what it claims to do. Saying “The feeling is surreal” which I can't agree with. As well as its “waterproof and virtually silent” And I can't completely agree with that either, just that it is waterproof.
-One side of the package is clear with the word “Lucid” down the side. The other side is a medium shade of blue spelling “Dreams”. Also in centered form lists, in different languages, its claims. Example listed is: waterproof.
-The back is a white background. It has on it states about the product, as well as the type/color of product you ordered. It also says that it does require 2AA batteries, as well as some other information already listed.
- The top of the box is clear and just displays the company's name. The bottom of the box also has information on the product and a “Warning for vibrating products”.

The toy is placed in a clear molded tray inside the package. At the very bottom of the packaging is a ‘Customer Registration' paper for you to mail in. On the side of the registration (that you cut off) is a “Thank You” basically saying that they appreciate your business, to mail in your comments and so forth. Also a “Notice” telling you not to leave the batteries in between use, and if the toy fails to operate check the batteries position and so on. On the back of the ‘cut out' it informs you of a 90 day warranty and what to do.

I wouldn't suggest using this as storage since the jelly tends to stick to the package. I'd suggest to store in a plastic zip-lock baggy.

I have used this toy for clitoral and vaginal use. I also did some teasing with my nipples and the exterior of my anus. It was nice and fun at frist but only lead to frustration. I first teased my clit with it, seeing if I could just get off with that, failed. So I move down to my vagina, placing the bullet deep inside. I found that it didn't do much for me. So with my two fingers (pointer and index) I cupped the vibrator in them and started fingering myself with it, rubbing against my g-spot. This only left me feeling teased, leaving me to find another toy to finish the job. There wasn't much variety and the vibrations were just too weak for me.

I gave this product a rating of 3 stars because of the weak vibrations, the unsafe material, and the fact that it was claiming to be virtually silent. The overall performance of this toy just didn't work for me.
