I didn’t expect much from the Mood Vibrator by Doc Johnson. I figured it would be just another little bullet vibe and in many ways it is. I wouldn’t really sing it’s praises from the rooftops or anything but it is a pretty solid, powerful little vibe and worth having in your back of tricks.

It’s definitely got some strong good points. It’s waterproof and surprisingly powerful for it’s size. It’s a multifunction vibe with all the standard setting variations. It’s also pretty quiet which is always a plus for me. I have housemates these days so it’s nice to have quiet toys. I love some of my big powerful toys a whole lot but I can’t exactly use them when everyone is home, ya know? I’m also a fan of a bit of discreet public play so a quiet, discreet, powerful vibe is great. I often have it in my purse just in case an opportunity arises.

It’s made with a smooth, sort of velvety touch plastic that is easy to clean with toy wipes or cleaners or soap and warm water. It has a cute design on it but that isn’t a big selling point for me since I didn’t get it for looks and if it were to, say, fall out of my purse, there wouldn’t really be any disguising what it is. It operates with an easy push button function on the end cap and runs on 1 AAA battery.

There are a couple cons in my book. I’m a bit of a power queen so this vibe is strong for what it is but kinda weak for my taste. It’s not that helpful to me unless I’m already excited and kinda warmed up. It’s cool that it’s multifunction but I’ve never liked toys that don’t have an easy off function. I personally rely mostly on the strongest vibe setting before the patterns start which is the third setting. This means that to turn it off I have to click through all the other settings. One of the things about not living alone is that an easy/fast off is nice to have.

I’m not crazy about the price on this one. I got it free for review, I’m pretty sure I would not have paid $16.99 for what is basically a largish bullet vibe. So for the price I don’t think it’s the best value.

I don't use this one much for me but I have discovered that it's quite useful on male partners. I like to keep it in my kit of toys along with the interesting lubes for when a partner wants something a bit different.
