Desire Plushy Silicone

Evolved have come out with a silicone line for some of their already adored products. The silicone version of the desire is such a nice texture, and has a great squishiness to it that makes it perfect for those who want a toy that moves with their body. It's body safe, easy to clean, easy to store and could become a new favorite if you are traveling.

Use

The desire is a traditional type of vibrator that can be used for insertion or for clitoral stimulation. It doesn't have a flange for anal play but if you play with it carefully it makes a very stimulating anal probe.

This is definitely a beginners toy. It's such a great quality material and the vibrations are decent enough for a beginner who enjoys mild to medium vibrations. Those who aren't new to sex toys will appreciate the texture of the silicone that evolved has used for the Fleur De Lis line. The vibrations provide delicate sensations on many erogenous zones but it is not so great as a massaging vibe as it is not strong enough for that.

This is the ideal toy for those who live in dorms or with room mates as it is fairly quiet for a battery powered toy. It is also waterproof so you can also enjoy it in the shower.

Material / Texture

The desire is made of 100% pure silicone which makes it phthalates free and body safe. It has no smell or taste. The silicone has a matte finish and is somewhat velvety but it mostly has a lot of drag.

This texture of silicone is for either advanced users or beginners, as long as waterbased lube is used to minimize friction. The silicone is quite squishy and plush. Not as much as vixskin of course but still quite soft. It provides a very comfortable fit in use. There is a seam that goes from one side to the other covering the whole length of the toy, but it is not prominent and it cannot be felt in use. It is there, but not a nuisance when enjoying the toy.

The cap that covers the battery compartment is made of white plastic and has a silver imprint of the companies name on it.

Design / Shape / Size

The desire has a bulbous head in the shape of a budding tulip with two rings below it with a slight taper followed by one ring. The way it is shaped gives the sensation of three ridges near the tip of the toy followed by three ridges near the end of the shaft.

It is about 7 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inches diameter at it's widest point. It is not a very daunting or intimidating toy as it is quite small in terms of girth. It has a sort of futuristic whimsical look to it, as though it were some sort of pink magic wand. This design might be more appealing to beginners who want to start with something on the slimmer side but it is also for the advanced users who appreciate the smaller things. At any rate, the slimness of it makes it great for preparing for anal sex, as long as you have a safe grip on it or you have one of those small cheap cock rings to act as a stopper.

The desire looks like a vibrator, meaning, if you leave it out someone will know what it is. But it is so cute everyone will want one so it's better to keep it hidden to avoid anyone trying to steal it from you. It's pretty easy to hide this in a purse as it is long and thin. It is also easy to carry around for travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy is very intuitive, and basically like most standard vibes. It works with a push button located at the end of the battery compartment. You simply push the button once to turn it on at the lowest vibe setting and press again to move up to the second and third speeds. Pressing on it once more will turn it off. Essentially, it functions exactly like the original plastic Desire.

The Desire requires two AAA batteries. These insert in a little plastic casing which is easily removable/insertable. It also helps to muffle the sound of the batteries that would rattle otherwise. A waterproof o-ring is located around the screw part of the battery compartment. The toy has continued to work whether used in the shower or submerged in the bath. No issues with water in the battery compartment arose.

The vibrations are located in the tip. Midway through the shaft, the Desire is quite flexible, it bends but it will not retain the bent shape. This makes the desire so supple and allows it to shape itself to your natural contours.

The vibration is more on the mild to medium in strength range in vibration. The two lower settings are great for teasing while the third setting is a little more powerful and more likely to help you reach orgasm. However, this remains a little less powerful than it's plastic twin which runs on AA batteries. On the plus side, the silicone desire is VERY quiet! So if you need to be discreet and you can do it at the expense of a little power, this toy is perfect.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone toys must only be used with water based lubes as silicone based lubes will damage the finish of the plush silicone making it tacky, permanently.

It is very easy to wash since it is waterproof. It cannot be boiled like other silicone toys as it has mechanical parts but a 10% bleach solution can be used if it needs to be sterilized.

If you are using it between orifices, I recommend using a condom on it, even if it is non porous as it is an extra precaution.

I store it along with the other toys in my toy chest.

One note about the silicone is that it is quite the lint magnet. So you might want to store it in it's own little toy pouch or plastic bag.

Packaging

Well, of course Evolved toys are always packaged in ingenious packages.

The desire comes in a cute reusable plastic casing, similar to the bottles they came out with a while back. It is clear plastic with a purple base that unscrews. The toy screws into the base and it can be put out for display if you wished to do so.

There is a little cord on top of the plastic container, perhaps to hang it, or simply a little bling for the package. I'm not sure what to make of it. I think it might be original to store your toy inside it and hang it on a hook in your bathroom, that way it is always ready.

Personal comments

In comparison to the plastic desire it is more quiet, and the vibrations or slightly more buzzy but not as much as a bullet would be. It is a nice change from the plastic desire.

Experience

When I first received it, I had issues with the toy not turning on right (I tried many batteries). I let it be and came back to it with the one of the same pair of batteries I tried earlier and it finally worked!

I love the feel of the silicone on my skin. I love lubing up the shaft and rubbing the length of the toy up and down my clit. It feels really good that way.

When it comes to the vibrations they are strong enough to get me off via clitoral stimulation. My one issue with it is that the shaft is flexible. I often need a lot of pressure on my clit and when I put pressure on this toy it bends. Eventually it reaches a threshold and stops bending but I am afraid I will break it from too much pressure.

I tried it once for anal stimulation. It is so delicious used in that way. I put a condom on it and lubed it up and slowly inserted it. It was quite easy and the sensation is very similar to that of anal beads but not quite. Plus the plushiness makes it super comfortable for anal play. But, I don't feel 100% safe using it that way so I haven't tried it again. It's made me want to try plushier things for my tush!

I really love the look and feel of this toy but I wish there was no bend to it. I rate it 5 stars because it is a quality toy that is likely to satisfy most women and my personal uneasiness in regards to the shaft is my personal opinion so it shouldn't detract from the toy itself as it is a very great toy.
Follow-up commentary
It is really a nice and well made toy. I find it cute as heck, but the flexibility just doesn't work for me. As soon as I need more pressure on my clit, the toy flexes.

I'm afraid I'm going to break it from the sheer pressure I put on it. It still works just as strong and I haven't had any issues with it, but I am more likely to grab the plastic Desire than the silicone one.

It is a question of personal preference. Some people enjoy bendy toys and it just so happens that they don't work ideally for me, but don't let that put you off.
