First Vibrator: My Silver Bullet

I buried my silver bullet with sadness when she died, after four months of loving. Silver bullets are a great way to explore toys, and I would recommend them to everyone—newbies or couples.

Use

I think there will always be a soft spot in my heart for this vibrator. She was the toy that introduced me to how much fun toys can be, and her dial-adjustable speeds meant that I could explore what kind of "buzz" worked best. The dial also works well if you're like me: a college student living with others. If someone comes home early, you don't have to cycle through a series of buttons to turn her off—just turn the dial down!

This basic bullet, like most, can be used for all-over-the-body stimulation, clitoral stimulation, and maybe internally, though I'd recommend putting a condom over the bullet portion for ease of retrieval if you do so. Even though there's a cord, pulling on that would shorten the lifespan of the bullet.

Material / Texture

For ten bucks you get a pretty basic but strong toy: don't expect any frills with the silver bullet. I'd recommend it to other beginners, and I'm sure—because this is such a cheap, small and basic toy—couples could find plenty of ways to incorporate it, especially into foreplay. At the very least, the silver bullet won't scare your partner.

The hard bullet portion provides enough pressure to use against your clit.

Design / Shape / Size

Overall, I found the design to be good—it's a silver bullet, so how it stays in place depends on how you're positioned and how turned on you are. You have to use your hand to keep the bullet in place, and it can numb your fingers pretty quickly.

The size is pretty average—it'll get the job of clitoral stimulation done, but it can really only target one zone at a time.

This toy is really easy to hide. I'm not too certain about discreet: while it's certainly less obvious than a dildo or slimline vibrator, most people could still recognize this as a sex toy. This toy would be good for travel—but to be safe, take out the batteries before packing just in case the dial gets turned to the "on" position.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibration (motor) is located in the egg, and the batteries are in the same plastic casing as the turn dial. This dial adjusts the level of vibration, from a gentle hum to a rather whiny buzz at its highest speed. How noisy the toy is depends on how high you turn the dial. At the lowest setting, it's pretty darn quiet, and at the highest...well, maybe you could say multiple people kept texting your cell phone?

Care and Maintenance

This toy's pretty easy to clean: just wipe off the bullet portion with a toy cleaner or with soap and warm water. Don't get the part holding the batteries wet though!

Storage is also easy, and I wrap the cord quickly around my fingers to make sure it won't get tangled.

  • vibrators for men
    • I have seen some people suggest vibrators/bullets for solo play for men. Not wanting to sound "dumb", but how does this pan out?
    • Ones like that one are used for teasing and or stimulating the balls, perineum or nipples. You can also put them in strokers for some extra fun, I love using an egg in my Fleshlights. I find they are great on the penis for foreplay as well, add some lube and 'stroke' the shaft till it's hard.

      You just have to experiment and see what you like.
    • My boyfriend likes it when I hold them to the base while I give him oral. :)

    • Often when I am using the bullet, it seems as though the cord rattles against the bullet and makes a lot of noise. I can't tell exactly what the noise is, but it's annoying and sometimes I can shift the bullet to quiet the noise and sometimes it persists. Does anyone else have this problem?
    • I don't have it so I can't answer but hopefully someone else can. Maybe submit a support ticket?

      I think it might be the little motor bumping into the bullet walls. Its happened to me a couple times and it does make it much noisier than needed! haha, i guess you can't really do anything in that case, except for what you're already doing :( Sorry.
