The Luv is both a vibrating body massager and a clitoral stimulator. It does both jobs marvelously. It offers both pin point pressure with using the tip, and of course, a more broad range while using the flatter surfaces. Use it alone or with a partner -- for sex, self-pleasure, or just simply to relax after a long day -- you really can't go wrong. As far as using during intercourse, I really see no reason not to as it is easy to hold without getting your hands in the way. If anything, it's awesome for foreplay because you can massage any part of your body/your partner's body with it.

It is waterproof and safe to bring with you into the shower, as well. This is relatively quiet, but is best used somewhere you will have privacy; behind a closed door would suffice, or even just drowned out with some music. There's no reason why you couldn't bring this on vacation with you, even in its packaging. If anyone asks, all you have to say is it's a massage tool (which is all the packaging tells you, anyway)!

The two materials in this toy are: Silicone and plastic.

The massaging heart portion is silicone, and the handle is plastic. The silicone is very smooth, completely firm, and no drag to it that I noticed. However, it is a HUGE lint magnet; even more so than my L'amour Thumper. Within a minute or two of taking it out and turning it on, it seemed to have already attracted things. So, it is recommended that you wash this before using in addition to afterwords. The plastic handle is very easy to hold onto and not slippery (unless you've got lube all over your hands!).

I did not notice any odor to this toy. It is firm and non-porous.

I love the design, size, and shape of the Luv. It's the perfect size for me to hold onto. The shape is perfect for massaging all over the body, whereas other massaging wands are either very large or too small. It easily glides over the shoulders and neck to ease tension. The heart shape gives you a great surface area for both massaging the body and as a clitoral vibrator. Alternatively, if you like pin point pressure, you can angle it just right to use the pointed tip of the heart.

The Luv measures at about 7 inches in total length, the heart itself at about 2 and 3/4 inches, and at its widest, it measures 2 and 1/2 inches. I found the size to be perfect for massaging the body, but as for the genitals, it was too large for me as a whole. I much preferred using the tip of it, which felt the best for massaging the labia and entrance of the vagina in addition to stimulating the clitoris.

From the moment I turned the Luv on, I was impressed. It was stronger than I expected on the first setting as I held it in my hand. Although it felt mostly buzzy on the handle through the plastic, the vibrations are very deep through the silicone heart portion.

It starts out with 3 steady vibration settings, each getting louder and slightly higher in pitch. Following those are two pulsation patterns that are sort of hard for me to describe, so take a look at my video and see if you can hear them for yourself. The first of the two is quicker, and the second is deeper and slower. It has a really interesting pattern that repeats over and over, instead of just pulsing the same repeatedly.

There are only two buttons on the Luv: "ON/OFF" and "5X" (the number of functions). When you turn it on, it lights up as a cool purple color. It does not, however, help you read the buttons if you are in the dark. Although it is not super easy to accidentally press the buttons while in use, it is also not impossible, so just keep in mind how you are holding it.

The Luv boasts of being both a massager and a clitoral vibrator. It definitely does both jobs! It provides deep enough vibrations to relax any tenseness in your muscles, and is so convenient to hold. It takes 4-AAA batteries. I use rechargeable ones, and have not noticed any diminished power as opposed to using regular ones. I also did not notice a diminishing of power between using the flat underside of the heart as opposed to the tip. The vibrations are strong enough to feel through your forearm, but it was not numbing or irritating.

Again, the Luv is waterproof. I have not tested it yet because I don't typically like taking toys into the shower, but I would not hesitate to do so because the battery compartment is so secure.

As with all silicone toys, it is safe for cleaning with soap and warm water, or with toy spray cleaner or wipes. It is also safe to use a 10% bleach solution to sanitize the silicone portion. Because of it's simple shape and lack of grand texture, it is extremely easy to clean, which definitely ups its appeal.

Only use water-based lubricants, never silicone, because it will ruin your toy. You will not want to store this with other silicone toys without each having its own source of protection. Since this is the case, definitely keep the box it comes in! Although it takes up much more space, it will protect the toy and keep it clean.

As you can see from the product page photos and my video, it comes in this really cute clear packaging with lots of hearts. You would not know that it were a vibrator because it only mentions its use as a massaging tool. Since this is the case, I think this would make a wonderful gift for someone who needs a little more relaxation and self-love in their life. By the outer casing they'll assume it's just a massager, and you can leave it up to their imagination after that to figure out it's other purpose.

The toy is secure enough in there that you can store it laying down or display it standing up. The only problem is that unless you keep the outer plastic housing on top, the box the actual toy is held in will not stay together. This was a slight disappointment because I really, really liked the packaging. I intend to keep the packaging to store it in, but my only concern was if the outer plastic was damaged, the box itself would be pretty useless.

On the side of the packaging, it shows how to remove the cap and insert the batteries. To the left of the diagram it shows you a diagram of the buttons on the toy, depicting which is the on/off switch and which is the function. To the right of the battery diagram it tells you that the plastic packaging is recyclable.

On the back it only gives you a few bullet points of information

Although that's not much, on the opposite side of the battery diagram, it repeats these points in Dutch, French, and Spanish.

Now, when you slip off outer plastic, you have a nice sturdy box that holds the Luv in place and displays it quite nicely. Like I mentioned, the top does not stay securely to the bottom, so you can't use this on its own.

At first it was difficult for me to figure out how to open the battery compartment, even with the diagram. The way you have to remove the cap, I thought I was going to break it so I did not push very hard and got frustrated. You have to push it directly down with force, not pull it out. The way the diagram was drawn, it is not precisely clear.

The battery compartment is not the easiest to pull out and put back in, but the cap pops back on easier than it does being taken off.

I really love the Luv. This has been, so far, my favorite purchase off of Eden. It was totally worth it. Coming from someone with chronic aches and pains, I would be happy alone with this being solely as a massager. I love that it is not a big, bulky, heavy wand, but it still gets the job done! I do not own any of the more popular wands like Hitachi or the Fairy, so I can't compare, but this alone is good enough for me.

The first thing I did with my Luv was begin to massage my neck. It felt awesome! I have stiff muscles and knots, and I was able to apply the pressure I needed and not have it interfere with the vibrations. The steady vibrations were the best, but using the last two pulsation settings were just a little bit awkward. However, as soon as I was done using it on my neck, I felt really dizzy and a little queasy. Apparently, it does get in there pretty deep.

I love how easy it is to hold, because it makes self-massage so easy. I could even massage most of my back with it, but I have a slight double jointed-ness with my shoulder socket, and so it may not be the same for everyone. If you have stiff muscles like me, you may not be able to feel the vibrations on the more muscle-y parts of your body, but you should still feel the results afterwords.
