Impulse flexi dolphin - rabbit vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by Andie

At first glance, Impulse flexi dolphin is kind of pretty; the colors give it a watery, relaxing feel. While the clit vibe is definitely identifiable as a dolphin, it didn't give me the feeling of molesting a woodland creature the way some of the more cutesy vibes do. The shaft is a touch on the thin side with a nice bulbous head, but the most interesting feature is the flexibility. It has a series of blue knobs that fit together like vertebrae. It bends and flexes, and the pieces click into place so that it holds its shape and isn't floppy.

I had a lot of fun with bending it upward once it was inside me so I could angle it perfectly toward my g-spot. I think the flexible shaft is the most unique feature of this toy, and it executes it very well.

Some of the more common features of this type of toy are a little less well done. It is a bit on the noisy side, definitely could be heard through covers and a closed door; but for all the noise, the vibration level is pretty low. Granted, this runs on four AAA batteries, so I knew it wouldn't be powerful as anything with larger batteries or a wall source.

I did find that the dolphin was positioned at a good place along the shaft to hit my clit perfectly, which is always a tough thing to get right. I like the extended handle because it kept my hand from getting too messy once things got going.

However, I find the lack of available controls a little puzzling. It has a total of seven different settings - some just pure vibration, others pulsing - but this is all controlled with a button on the base simply labeled "on/off."  Pushing it once turns it on the first setting, and subsequent pushing cycles through each one and then turns it off. It's a little annoying if you decide you like one of the middle settings, and then you have to remember that you need to push the button four times in order to get there, as opposed to toys where you can just select which one you like and turn it on. Also, especially considering the loudness, it would have been nice to have a way to just turn it off with one button push if needed.

The head of the toy, aside from having a nice shape, also contains a bullet vibe. Many other sex toys of this type have rotating or swirling heads, but that just would not work with the flexible shaft, so the vibe is a welcome inclusion.

I like this toy but don't love it. I really enjoyed playing with the flexible shaft and finding the perfect shape to hit me just right, and waterproof toys are always fun to test in the shower, but I found the simplicity of the controls to be just as frustrating as toys with overly complex settings. I think it'd actually be great for a beginner because the shaft is so comfortable and the vibration is light.
