Not A Splash For Me!

All in all I believe that this is a failure. I really expected a lot more from it. They really need to do something about the way it smells too.

Use

The Dolphin clit teaser in my opinion is a waste of perfectly good AA batteries. The vibrations are pretty good but they don't make it to the dolphin very well. I guess if you use it with a really good insertable vibe you might get off, but other than that... Umm no. It smells horrible! I can't even explain what it smells like except that it is NOT pleasant.

Material / Texture

The Dolphin is made of plastic at the base and the dolphin cap is jelly. The dolphin is pointy and not very pleasurable; it stabs you a little. It is safe for you though, as long as you don't prick yourself with its nose. It is made of food grade material and is hypo-allergenic. It is also latex free and phthalates free.

Design / Shape / Size

I would have liked the design if the dolphin wasn't so flimsy, if its nose wasn't so pointy and if the vibrations carried to the dolphin cap. It is fairly obvious that they didn't have very many people test out this product before packaging and selling it. I guess if you popped off the dolphin it would be a good pocket massager. The base has good vibes.

Functions / Performance / Controls

It takes 1-AA battery. The vibrations in the base are good but they do not travel well to the cap. It has a twist control where you insert the battery. The packaging says that it is waterproof but it does NOT have a rubber seal where the battery goes in, so I wouldn't get it wet.

Care and Maintenance

I always use water based lubes as they are compatible with most things. I found it was easy to clean with soap and warm water. Washing it does not get rid of the smell though. Whenever it is possible I store all of my toys in their original packaging.

Packaging

It comes in a clear plastic sleeve-like container that can be reused for storage. That is what I do. There were no instructions on it, but you just put the battery in and twist.

Personal comments

I was really disappointed with this. It looked so cute until I turned it on and attempted to have a little fun with it. I would not get another one... ever. I'm not sure how long it will take to forget that smell either.
Follow-up commentary
I swear I cant even open this thing up to give it another chance. The smell is so overwhelming that it makes my stomach lurch forward. Ugh. No no no! I really wanted to give it another shot and maybe be able to improve the review on it but I just cant. In the trash it goes.

    • I noticed on the dolphin clit teaser that the material safety level is a 2..? Is that based mostly on porosity and sterility or does it have dangerous chemicals in it? Anyone know? I have read that it smells funny, so it has me wondering.

      If you click on the materials listed, you can see their properties. This one looks like it's jelly and plastic. I would also suggest reading the reviews, many reviewers talk about materials and how to clean them and use them safely.

      Jelly: "Jelly material can't be sterilized like silicone-so no boiling water. Since jelly toys can't be sanitized they can't be shared-unless you put a condom over them. Clean jelly toys with the warm water and toy cleaner. Don't use strong soaps on them and keep in a cool dark place."
    • I believe the material safety level is based on porosity/ how hospitable the material is to bacteria. I'm sure the material safety level has nothing to do with dangerous chemicals.
