Oh Hera, how you tease...I was a little disappointed in the Hera. It was a tease that didn't pay off. As a G-spot toy, I would count it as a fail. However, it is perfect for foreplay.
Great for teasing
Great for teasing
The Hera is intended for G-spot usage. I would recommend a toy cover if you’re going to share and possibly while using. Which would make it a lot easier to clean. This toy stimulated the G-spot slightly but not enough because of the soft tip. The vibration is noticeable, sound and feeling wise. The vibration is strong enough to enjoy. It sounds like a cell phone vibrating when you have a text. This toy would be good for foreplay or teasing. It does provide great stimulation to the clit and nipples.
The Hera was soft with a kind of subtle wavy curves along the side. The tip is very soft and flexible. There is no odor at all, which is nice. The safety level of this material is a 7 of 10. The toy material is TPR, which is like a rubber polymer blend. It feels like the rubber is kind of gummy like but not as mushy. The texture was one of the things that got me excited about this toy. If you’ve ever had a toy with the realistic type material, it almost feels like that. You can use water or silicone based lubricants.
The design was pretty simple. The wavy curves weren’t that defined, and they don’t really make that much of a difference. In terms of design, it is not that discreet. However, it would be easy to travel with. This toy could be used for any level of experience. If you’re more into the length, width, or like a toy with lots of texture, then this may not be for you. It has an insertable length of 5 ¼”, circumference of 3 ¼”, and a diameter of 1”. The length of the full toy is 6 1/4”.
There are 5 speeds, which are controlled at the base of the toy. You turn it on by pushing the button in the center of the hard plastic cap at the end. You have to go through all 5 of them to turn it off. The first 3 speeds have different types of pulse patterns to them. The 4th speed is a steady vibration. The 5th speed seems similar, but at the end it kind of has a pulse to it. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries.
This toy is waterproof and can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water. This also seems like a good toy to get toy cleaner wipes for. It has potential to have the fibers of cloth stick to it. It’s not as bad as some of the other toys, but I did notice that it picked up some lint on it. I do recommend taking the cap off when you’re cleaning it and wiping that area with a cloth. I store mine in the original packaging because it was plastic, and I knew that there wasn't going to be anything that could really stick to it.
I was excited to try this toy out because of the material. This toy was good for a tease. The softness of the tip really held this toy back. The 5 different speeds were a plus. While using, it can be hard to keep track of which speed you are on. The Hera was nice, but it left me wanting more.
Follow-up commentary 1 month after original review
My Hera is pretty much collecting dust. It's not really a first pick for me. Like I've mentioned in my review this is more of teasing then pleasing. I would start with this for foreplay but move to another toy or action for the real fun.
