One Light Saber That Just Doesn't Cut It

I wouldn't recommend this for a beginner or anyone for that matter. For twenty two bucks you could get a hold of a nice bullet or traditional vibe with a lot more power and less racket. I was provided this free of charge to review, thank goodness because I would have been disappointed if I had spent any money on this. Though if you want a $22 vibrating flash light then look no further.

Use

The Starlight massager is a wand massager intended for external and internal stimulation. It could be used to tease the nipples, clit and any other erogenous zone you may think of, though if you decide to use it anally do so carefully due to the lack of a flared base and make sure to use a condom or toy cover. It could be used for solo or partner play but I honestly would not use this solo. It doesn't do anything for me. With a partner it can be a bit fun due to how it lights up. This toy could be for a novice or an advanced user that has a VERY sensitive clit and needs next to no power to get off.

Material / Texture

The starlight is made out of TPR silicone, which is less porous than jelly but it is still porous so it can not be sterilized. The texture is smooth and slick and there are three raised ridges on the shaft that do add a bit of fun for internal use. The texture is mild though so it is not overwhelming. The texture would work well for anyone really. There was a light odor when I first opened the package but it did go away after a good wash with soap and water. The base is made from plastic, the inside of the vibe is also firm and rigid. There is absolutely no flexibility at all. It's almost like a TPR sleeve was placed over a rigid flashlight.
    • Light odor
    • Somewhat porous

Design / Shape / Size

The design is mediocre in my opinion. The size is modest, with 4 1/2 insertable inches and 1 1/4" of girth. When inserted you know it's there but the starlight does not provide a very full feeling. Because the shaft is rigid this toy is only good for thrusting and not a good g-spot tool. The base is very easy to hold onto which is a plus. The tips is softer, there seems to be about a half inch at the tip which is just TPR. The light is at the tip of the vibe also. Very basic design, which would have been great if it had more give and the performance was up to par.

The one thing that the starlight really has going for it is the fact that it is waterproof and the design of the waterproof battery casing was done well. The battery compartment does not come off easily and hasn't come apart accidentally. I don't feel that this is able to be fully submerged but it can definitely be used in the shower and washed thoroughly with out worry.

The starlight looks kind of like a light saber but it is still obviously a vibrator, so it is not very discreet. I wouldn't travel with it personally, but it would be easy enough to pack and take with you provided that you remove the batteries first.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The starlight is very basic and I mean VERY basic. There is a dial on the bottom to turn it on and that is it. The light and the vibrations are controlled by this dial. The starlight is intended to have variant vibration speeds/strength but it really doesn't. The vibrations feel the same to me whether the dial is just turned on or if it is "up" all the way. As far as I can tell, the more you turn the dial the louder it gets. The light will also get a bit brighter as you turn the dial up. The vibrations are very buzzy and weak, the whole thing vibrates and your hand will get tingly if you hold on to this for too long. I feel more vibes in my hand than on my clit when I use this. If used as a basic thrusting tool it feels kind of nice but the vibrations are only a mild tease on my clit. Not enough power by any means. There is no pin point stimulation with this. I can't even tell where the vibrations originate from since the whole thing rattles and vibrates. Oh and the noise. Loud, rattly, buzzy noise. It is quite distracting.
    • Easy to use
    • Not discreet at all
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

Very easy care and maintenance. It is waterproof so it can be washed in the sink with soap and water or cleaned with a toy wipe. It takes three AAA batteries. Easy to find, easy to change. There are no little grooves for fluid to get trapped around which is nice, but since it is made of a porous material it can not be sterilized so use a toy cover if sharing with someone who you are not fluid bonded with. I store it in my toy box wrapped in tissue paper. It surprisingly isn't the worst lint magnet either, and I was expecting it to be.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging was cheap plastic that was shaped around the vibrator. No box, not good for storage but the package is recyclable plastic. I wouldn't give this as a gift at all. The packaging is just not nice enough, neither is the product for that matter.
    • Minimal
    • Recyclable

Experience

This was fun for foreplay with my man and I once, mainly because of the fact that it does light up and it was fun to play around in a pitch black room with only the starlight for light. The vibrations were a tease and could definitely not get me off. I tried using this solo also and I got bored and irritated by it rattling my hand. Not pleasurable. At all. I will probably keep this next to my bed in case my power goes out though.
Follow-up commentary
Never liked this and I never will. But my dog dig. My boyfriend and I used this as a fetch toy for her and we would turn it on and put it on the floor. She would run around it and bark and try to attack it. That was seriously the most I got out of this. It has now been trashed since my dog finally decided to chew it up and once it was unsafe for her to continue to gnaw on I pitched it. Needless to say I do not recommend this to ANYONE.
