Pump it up... or not

Published: September 30, 2008
useful review
If you really want to try a clitoral pump, I would suggest finding one with a smaller, thinner suction cup. This one is really not all its cracked up to be.
Pros:
Strong vibration.
Cons:
No instructions, too bulky.

The Vibrating clitoral and vaginal pump by Doc Johnson is a great idea in its concept, but does not completely deliver. This is the first time that I tried a clitoral pump, and I was intrigued because I heard that it could easily feel like oral stimulation. While all the technical aspects are there, this certainly does not compare to traditional oral sex.

What I liked about this vaginal and clitoral pump is that the bullet inside the suction cup is very powerful and you can change the speed by just turning a dial with your thumb. The bad news? The bullet is so loud that no one should be near your home if you are trying to be discreet about your private time.

Now here's the really bad news: the suction cup is large--too large to use additional toys with. The name is a vaginal and clitoral pump, but I see no really reason to try and suction it to the vaginal opening. It is also made out of a hard jelly material. This gives little flexibility when pumping.

The pump is good, although is took quite a few tries to actually get it to stick to my body. But if you use too much lube on the suction cup, the pump is likely to suck the excess liquid up into the connection tube (I found out the hard way). This makes for difficult, if not impossible, cleaning.

The worst part about this particular vaginal pump is that is does not come with directions. While the fact that it is a clitoral pump should be self-explanatory, I still wanted to know where I should put it, exactly how long can I go before I release the suction, etc.

I did orgasm after a few minutes of using this toy, but I found that I had to do a lot of work. And while the suction doesn't hurt, it may be uncomfortable if you pump it to much.
Experience
I found that if you don't let the suction cup completely stick to your body while pumping, that is gives a more realistic, kissing feeling. Just sticking the suction cup on your clit and leaving it alone doesn't really work because the material is too thick to send the vibrations where they need to be--at least without additional motion.

I agree, there should be directions with any pumping device, since time and placement are important factors. Weird that it's hard jelly...

Yeah, I thought that it was really strange how hard the material actually was.

It definitely should come with directions. Products like this need to let consumers know exactly how to use them.
