Serenade me every day!

This vibrator is great for those that like moderate texture, steady vibration, or realistically sized vibrators that don't look realistic. The Serenade is a fun vibrator that is very well designed. The magic of this vibrator for me is in the details like the tray that holds the batteries or the packaging.

Use

The Serenade by Evolved is a fantastic textured vibrator. In my house it gets used both for solo play and during foreplay. It is waterproof, so you can take it with you on your aquatic adventures.

I use it vaginally because it is not safe for anal. It does not have a flared base to stop the toy from entering the body due to a muscle spasm.

I have been lusting after Evolved's toys for a long time and picked this one up on sale. I was not disappointed at all. It is well designed. Normally I can look at a toy and figure out at least 5 improvements to it, but this one only had one. (Spoiler: I don't like having to press the button through all functions to shut off my toy.)

Material / Texture

This vibe is made from TPR and has a plastic base. TPR is a 7 on the EF safety scale. It is somewhat porous, so if you are planning on sharing this please use a condom on it so you aren't sharing bacteria. The Serenade is hypo-allergenic, latex free, and phthalates free.

TPR is a flexible material that is similar to jelly. I find that it is a little more firm than a lot of jelly toys but not by much. It is much firmer than my UR3 toys. The TPR is very smooth, but it does have a good amount of drag on the skin. A little bit of lubricant makes that go away.

This does seem to attract hair and lint, so I wipe it down with a baby wipe before each use and store it in the tin it came in.

This toy has a very mild smell. It's reminiscent of rubber, but it is only detectable from about 4 inches, and even then, it isn't that bad. The smell has persisted through 2 washings but has gotten more subtle each time.

    • Light odor

Design / Shape / Size

This vibe is 8.25" long with an insertable length of 6". It is 1 5/8" in diameter and 5 1/4" in circumference. This is a standard realistic size for vaginal insertables.

This vibe is not realistic in design and shape. It is bubbled and ridged. The ridges are all same along the length, but the bubbles get smaller towards to tip. The vibrations are focused in the smooth tip. The smaller tip makes it easier to insert and gradually works towards the 5" circumference at the base.

It is designed with a flex point about 1/3 up from the base so it will bend to accommodate a woman's anatomy which is really nice as I have a pretty prominent pelvic bone.

I really love realistically sized toys in general, and I love the Serenade specifically because it is filling, flexible, and moderately textured. I can still feel the ridges when it is inserted, but they are mild to me which is how I prefer my texture.

This toy is fairly large so I think it isn't terribly discreet. You can maybe pass it off as a massager, but I think that is stretching.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Serenade runs off of 2 AA batteries. It is controlled by a button on the very end of it; one push will change it to the next setting. There are only three settings on this toy, low, medium, and high vibrations. If you want to turn it off, you have to go through all three functions, and if you miss the setting you want, you have to cycle through again which can be irritating.

The vibrations are pretty powerful, not the best, but still nothing to sneeze at. They are focused in the tip of the vibrator.

This is waterproof, so you can take it into the bath or shower with you.

It's a fairly noisy toy. I can hear it in the next room, but only faintly. It's not so loud as to be distracting, but this may not be the toy for a dorm situation.
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

This is made from TPR which is a rubber polymer blend. TPR is porous, so makes sure and use a condom when sharing between partners. It cannot be sterilized by boiling or running through the dish washer. You can wash it in warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner.

TPR can be used with both water and silicone based lubes, and it doesn't require being kept separate from certain types of materials, so storage is easy.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

I was blown away by the packaging for this toy. Evolved went above and beyond on the packaging.

The first layer was a thin cardboard sleeve. After removing that there was a metal box that has plastic on the lid so you can see the toy through it. It states the name of the toy, the line of toys it is from, and the company. The back of the package lists a product description and information about the material the toy is made out of and how to use it.

The lid is held in place by metal clasps that snap on. They feel very solid and I don't think they are going to break anytime soon.

Inside the tin, there is foam that is cut for the vibe to sit in.

This is such a great box. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be storing this toy in its original packaging for as long as I own it.
    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

This toy is great for just about anyone. It's on the larger end, so it may be a little intimidating for some beginners, but other's may find it the perfect toy for them.

This toy does moderate very well. It is moderate in size, moderate in texture, and moderate in vibration. I don't think in this case that it is a bad thing. Sometimes moderate is what is needed to get the job done.

Experience

I love this toy. I loved it from the moment I saw it on EF. I loved it when I opened that amazing box. I really loved it as it slipped inside. The texture is subtle to me, but feels amazing. The vibes were perfect one 1st and 2nd settings because I don't like high internal vibrations. I didn't want to stop using this toy.

I think that this toy does need a different control so you don't have to cycle through to turn it off and more variation in pattern would please a lot of people.

If those were fixed I would replace my Serenade... Until then... I am a happy camper.
Follow-up commentary
Saying I don't like it anymore isn't entirely fair, but I don't like it as much. I just don't have the interest in using this toy that often. It's rather large, and the vibes are pretty intense, so it requires warm up to get to using it.

It's by no means a bad toy; it's just too specific for me to use regularly for how my anatomy works.

Great review. Thanks. I love the blue color on this. I have several of Evolved vibes and have never been disappointed. This looks like it would be great as well.
