Spin me up, spin me down... Oh yea right there!

OK, I'll admit it. I'm a detailed person. I have very specific tastes especially when it comes to sensual objects and activities. When I'm masturbating, the Roulette High Roller allows me to be very precise about the intensity of vibrations that I want to use. The rolling dial makes it easy to flip back and forth between stronger and gentler settings. The Roulette has no buttons to press and no need to cycle through levels to return to a previous setting. And all that is... oh so satisfying.

extremely useful review
The Roulette High Roller is an insertable vibrator made by Evolved Novelties. It was designed in California and manufactured in Europe. It's made of plastic coated with very soft pink silicone. I am tempted to call the silicone toothsome, but it is not food nor does it have any taste. And in fact, biting into this toy would be ill-advised as your sharp little chompers might tear its fine silicone coat. The silicone is textured with a stylized design that reminds me of a woman's genitalia. It has a shrouded appearance with a little round head at the top that looks like a clitoris.

Underneath this charming facade is two strong vibrating motors, one near the base of the toy and one about an inch down from the head. The head itself is all squishy silicone that I've found very nice for directing focused vibrations and pressing into those little spots that want some extra attention. The dual motors are a smart design choice, because when the toy is inserted you are getting vibrations deep inside as well as near the entrance your vag where many delectable nerve endings reside.

The High Roller can also be used for anal play. The toy tapers out from head the base. It does not do so in the dramatic way of sanctioned anal toys, but anal beginners and intermediates will likely just reach a point along the toys shaft where they will not want to stretch any further. The widest point is just over 1-1/2" diameter. The shaft has quite a bit of flexibility, and the sterilizable silicone make it a hygienic choice for butt play. Be sane about how far you push the toy in, and you should be just fine.

Now comes my favourite part about the High Roller, and the whole Roulette line. The level of vibrations is controlled by a rolling dial embedded at the base of this toy. It's not one of those cheap dials that's just screwed onto the bottom of the battery cap. It's actually contained in a little frame where it can roll in two directions: up the shaft or down towards the base. There are little pink grips molded onto the dial to aid in traction. I find the degree of precision to be quite fine. It is also dead easy to use, being a simple analog mechanism, and you can go back and forth between higher and lower vibrations as much as you want. There is absolutely no need to cycle through the vibrations from lowest to highest in order to return to the lowest setting. Also I find the rolling dial to be more sensual and tactile than pressing buttons back and forth.

Strength wise, this toy's vibrations range from gentle and relaxing to quite strong. It's not Hitachi strength, but it ranks high amongst less legendary vibrators. It feels nice and rumbly. It is very quiet when held upright, but when turned upside down there is a bit of a rattle.

The High Roller comes in a beautiful clear plastic box with a removable lid. The lid snaps on and off with the aid of metal fasteners on either end. Inside there is a molded plastic tray that makes it look like the toy is floating inside. It works great for storage, but is not discreet as you can clearly see the toy inside the box. There are decals covering the box that list the product's name, manufacturer, material information, etc. There is a disclaimer on the box stating that this toy is for novelty purposes and external use only. This was a little off-putting to me. I suppose it's a way for the company to cover their rears against being sued for use of their toys, but messages like that don't really put me in the mood to use sex toys.

Anyway, this toy takes two double-A batteries that can be easily inserted by twisting the base off of the toy. It is very sturdily constructed and half snaps-half screws into place. There is also waterproofing on this toy so it can theoretically be submerged. I have not tried this out myself yet. It's best not to store batteries in the toy when it is not in use. The High Roller can be washed with soap and water, or sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. Make sure to wash this toy with the cap screwed on tight, or use a damp cloth. Allow the toy to air dry completely with the battery cap off so all the mechanical mechanisms can dry. The silicone on this toy attracts lint, but it doesn't do this quite as readily as my other silicone toys.
Experience
This toy has changed the way that I use vibrators! Honestly, it's not one that I would have picked out myself. I actually won it during June's Porn Club meeting. Thanks, Porn Club! I am really glad that I have it now, though, and here's why:

I have mostly gravitated towards strong vibration toys. My Hitachi gets a lot of use, as does my Mystic Wand. These powerhouses can really push me over the edge, but I find that the High Roller is a great compliment to the wands' unrelenting strength. I think of the Hitachi as big and brutish. It says, "I am going to make you come, and quick!" Conversely, the High Roller allows for more back and forth in the course of build-up. I can respond very quickly to what my body actually wants by spinning the dial higher or lower. This has made my clit very appreciative and I've been enjoying learning to listen to its requests more carefully. The High Roller's a more precise tool, and though it's vibrations can go quite strong, I've been using the whole spectrum of what it has to offer.

Funnily enough, I have not been using this toy as an insertable. I tried it a couple times, but honestly I'm not so into having vibrations inside my vagina. I like them near the opening, but at this point vibrations deep inside feel weird to me instead of sexy. I also thought that I would use it as an anal toy, which I haven't yet. There is still room for me to do further exploration with this toy!
Follow-up commentary
To be frank, I'd use this toy a lot more if it were rechargeable or wall-powered. I just don't want to engage the part of my brain that knows how to insert batteries into a toy when I'm feeling sexual, turned on or want to be turned on. It makes me wish a little that I had a battery inserting fetish or something. Honestly though, I just want my toys standing by and ready to go at my beck and call. I don't use this toy so much simply because of the power source.

Thanks for talking about how the vibrations can be felt throughout the toy! This kind of information really helps in thinking about the different possible uses.

I know you're not supposed to keep batteries in toys, but I rotate my battery toys so that they each spend a few days every now and again with batteries in them, else I skip over them all just like you do.
