The intended use for this vibrator, or what I assume is its intended use, is dual stimulation of the vagina and clitoris. However, this is not at all what I would consider the best use for the Toyfriend Shorty. I suggest this toy for anal use.

Anally, it can be used two ways. The first being as an anal warm up, and second, with the dildo portion inserted anally and the rabbit portion directed across the genitals. If used this way the toy could be enjoyed by both men and women, vaginal use would obviously only be available for those with female genitalia.

The silicone used for the Toyfriend Shorty, is a luxurious high quality silicone with a texture that matches that of Lelo products; it is so smooth that I would describe it as being somewhere between a fine velvet and satin feel. The silicone does not pick up lint or hair, and if it does, you can simply brush them off because they do not adhere to the material. It is also very easy on lube (just make sure to use something compatible).

The narrower areas of the vibrator are very flexible, however the thicker area in the large insertable portion is almost solid. There is little if any give to the silicone, so I would advise taking care as far as enthusiastic thrusting goes. The ends are somewhat pointy and have potential to bump or bruise sensitive areas.

Texture-wise this material is perfect for beginners; it is non porous, body safe, sterilizable and easy on lube. However, as I said above, because of the lack of give the pointed ends have potential to be painful if you're not careful, so its suitability on that level would really depend on the beginner and their plans for the toy.

This product is designed for dual stimulation, however the rabbit portion is much too large (lengthwise) to comfortably fit most bodies the way it was intended to. The pointed ends make for easy and comfortable penetration but have the potential to be a bit pokey. This is by no means a guarantee, all bodies are different and it is really only likely to be a result of enthusiastic or "violent" thrusting and shallow anatomy.

On the other hand, the design is great for anal play. The "rabbit" ears are fantastic for beginner anal stimulation, being small and unthreatening they are perfect for a warm up. The vibration only adds to the experience. The dildo portion is both comfortable and ergonomic, it also makes a good beginner anal toy and enjoyment of this can be maximized by positioning it so that the rabbit portion of the toy rests against the vulva or testicles.

As far as functionality, this is just about as basic as it gets. There is a push button control on the base of the toy which controls the power. There is only one setting, so you press the button once for on, once for off.

It is waterproof, very quiet and the vibrations are also quite weak, they are neither buzzy nor thrummy, more of a happy medium, though it is difficult to tell due to the low intensity. Only the rabbit portion of the vibrator has a motor, and vibrations do not carry well into the area designed for insertion. It runs off of an LR1 battery which is sometimes used in cameras, so if you want to go shopping for replacements in a pinch, I suggest camera shops.

The Shorty is very easy to clean. Silicone is non porous and therefore does not harbour bacteria, a thorough cleaning with mild soap and water, or an antibacterial toy cleaner should do the trick. In the case that you would like to give the Shorty a more thorough cleaning you can spray it down or soak it in a 10% bleach solution to sterilize it.

There are a couple of ways to store the Shorty. It comes with a clear plastic base which you can use to stand it up in if you would like to keep it on a shelf, on top of a dresser or something of the sort. You can also keep it in the package it came in, in a toy pouch or toy box, or just on its own in a drawer. It does pick up small amounts of lint, but nothing really sticks to it like it would to Jelly, or even some other types of silicone. A quick rinse should get everything off and really is the best practice before using a toy anyway.

Things you want to be careful with are silicone materials of mixed, or questionable quality, this includes silicone lubes. Certain chemicals will react badly with pure silicone and can cause your toy to lose material integrity or deteriorate. To ensure the safety of your toy, keep it out of direct contact with any toys with a rubbery texture.

The Shorty comes in a small cardboard box with a plastic insert. If you wanted to keep it for storage, you could, with or without the cardboard box. There were not pictures of naked women on it, but I would not suggest using the box for a gift, unless you plan on wrapping it.

It also came with a small clear plastic base and a battery.
