I'm curious to know if anyone has ever had a scary or frightening experience while playing BDSM. If so, has it deterred you at all from future BDSM play?

I recently broke up with someone, and long story short we were watching a movie at home at home one night not too long after she learned that I was into BDSM, she tried to "give me what I wanted". I had previously trusted her implicitly. I've never even played really and it was scarily close to rape. She stopped just before it got bad. Needless to say I am very hesitant now to explore some of my nonconsensual fantasies of that nature.
