How safe is fisting?

We tried it on each other, in the past. However, neither of us can get more then a couple fingers in. Fisting is NOT happening for us, ever. However, I CAN tell you we know TWO couples who vaginal fist...a bunch. We know one more couple who do vaginal and anal fisting with regularity....She takes it vaginally and anally and he takes it anally from her. They speak of the "sport" of fisting in terms of "intense" feelings, and "ultimate bonding and trust"...etc.

I cannot speak to anything except that SOME people do it, and more over, they claim if done right and carefully, it is "safe", if challenging.

Thankfully, most peri-rectal tears heal fine. Using a cleansing lotion like Balneol will help, if used to "clean up' the area. If it does not heal promptly, however, SEE A DOCTOR, before you have an infected anal fissure.
