Why are people so weird about anal sex?

I would love to know also. I had anal sex before I ever had vaginal sex! And yes, I'm female. I don't think it's weird or anything. But I would like to know why people view it so weirdly.

I just don't know. Maybe because we are conditioned from an early age to think "its an exit, not an entrance"? Although I never can figure out why some people can so much about what others do in the privacy of their own space.

Generally speaking, anyone that wouldn't want to talk to me anymore because of any kind of sex I was having probably isn't someone I want in my life to begin with. And I agree that most people are just conditioned to think it's dangerous and dirty which isn't true if it's done properly.

But some people simply don't like it for themselves, which is fine. I personally do not like it one bit and I'm about as well educated and well tried on it as possible. I simply don't enjoy it. I like anal play, but not actually being fully penetrated.

No one has ever done that to me over anal sex, that's ridiculous to think that someone would stop talking to a friend over it. I've never had anyone judge me for it. In fact, all my friends do it. lol

I don't think people should hold grudges over which way you have sex or anything about your sec life really. I've never experienced anything like that. I am not sure why anyone would really care ?

Some people are just weird.

Some people think that it's a degrading act, especially since the porn industry is so obsessed with it. Unfortunately many sexist and humiliating acts glorified in porn ruin an otherwise wonderful and fulfilling act enjoyed by many normal people. These acts leave a lot of people feeling that if they try anal, then they're sleazy.

It's sad though because even in the past anal sex aka sodomy was actually against the law. How did we develop such a overly critical of anal sex.
Is it because anal sex is/was associated with homosexuality and that has always been viewed in a negative light? Or is it a religious reason? Or if you want to go the other direction, is it some negative stigma stemming from the belief of evolution, because anal sex does not further the species and is seen as an unproductive and lesser evolved act? Or is it because of some negative stigma resulting from psychology, and everything that Freud taught about the anal complex and how anal sex would represent a psychological disorder?
I guess what I am getting at is that I can't put my finger on why society and some people are so weird about anal sex.

I'm not that person, I think. But I haven't been comfortable with the idea of it yet.

Some people feel that it's an act of violence against women -- since it can be painful if not done right, there are plenty of folks out there that assume it just is painful. Also, there's the portrayal of it in porn that's not doing it any favors.

Other people are homophobic for whatever reason, and are under the impression that it's just for homosexuals -- there are men out there that fear enjoying prostate stimulation automatically means they're gay and just haven't realized it.

Then there's the embarrassment factor, since it's really easy to not feel clean about anything in that region, and therefore be afraid to try it for that type of reason.

Finally, there's the unfortunate label of "Sodomy" which has been tied to the Biblical story of Sodom. Many Christians truly believe that the central sin in that story was the sex act, but if you truly read and study the Bible, you discover that God's beef with Sodom wasn't immoral sex, it was greed, indifference toward the suffering of others, and a general lack of charity. The Sodomites weren't slutty, they were selfish. That's why Lot, the charitable man who offered hospitality to strangers, was the one spared.

I am really interested in anal sex with my wife, but she is in the mindset of "its an out hole and really dirty!" I have gotten her to use anal toys on me during sex together, but I still haven't been able to convince her that it is highly pleasurable.
