Compared to five or ten years ago, do you go out to a movie theater more or less?

I rarely go now. Some of it is the cost but mostly there isn't anything on that I can't wait till it's on TV to watch.

Having children has made me go a lot less than before.

If a movie is coming that that really catches my interest, I'm there. I don't like waiting and I don't like cam movies when it's something that's going to be really good.

I see a movie about once a week. I work at a theater so I get free movie tickets, but even then I only go so I can get my schedule. I live around 7 miles away so I make the drive worth it.

Compared to 5-10 years ago, we go about the same. A couple times a year, on Christmas and for anything that really catches our eye.

Now, compared to 15 or so years ago? I go much much less. There was a local theater near where I used to live that did the Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday night, and my friends and I went every week in high school. Often times we'd go see whatever was playing beforehand, regardless of what it was. I miss those days.

When I was a teenager I went fairly often mostly because it's where all my friends were going. I have very few friends nowadays, and I prefer waiting till things come out to watch at home anyways, so it was only natural that i essentially stopped going to theaters at all. It's much more pleasant to watch a movie in silence and be able to pause it whenever you want without disturbing others.

Way less. I went to the movies as a teen, but haven't been in at least 3-4 years, probably more.

When I was younger going to movies with friends was a regular part of my social live. Today, I'll maybe go to see a movie once a year.

for me it is the price of admission to a movie theater, it has gotten way outta hand and to purchase popcorn and a drink is just outrageous... We stahy home and use pay per view or something like that.

I kind of hate movie theaters and find no reason to actually go to one.
I can hardly sit through a movie without the need to do something else so I don't waste the money.
Movies just don't engross me as they used to.

So I rarely even consider going to see a movie at theater for any reason.
Even for dates xD I'll turn that down in a heartbeat. -shrug-

Too expensive! But it's also true that getting faster access to new movies has made me watch newer movies more. I just don't see them on the big screen, ever.

We rarely go to the movies anymore partially because of all the reasons you listed, but mainly because we just prefer watching them at home.
