As far as genre goes... I LOVE HORROR. That being said, I hate so much of what has come out in the last 15 years or so. And.... The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the greatest movie ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not a movie, but I'm in the middle of watching American Horror Story now and it's hitting all of my horror-flik buttons! It's got weird shit and suspense and it's a thriller. I'm addicted to it already!
I LOVE horror movies! Zombies, serial killers, cults, crazy people, illness/outbreaks, ghosts, si-fi, psychological thrillers....so many! I wish they scared me like they did when I was a kid. Nothing gets to me anymore, I miss the thrill of it.
I'm not a horror fan. I love psychological thrillers, but those are often on the edge of not being horror anyways. My least favorite is probably horror comedy and stalker/home invasion. Gore is just silly for me, I just KNOW it's CG/makeup so I spend my time thinking about the graphics/makeup instead of the movie
I was going through the options and I realized that I probably love at least one movie form each sub-genre, but my all-time favorite horror movies are the original Thai "Shutter" and the Spanish "Rec." Both are just so fantastic, so well done.
I like classic horror movies. Anything that doesn't rely on cheap tricks like gore or loud noises is a-okay in my book. Although I also am a huge fan of the parodied and outrageously campy horror movies too.
