The majority of books I read are in the fantasy genre and one of the biggest ones to come around since The Lord of the Rings is The Game of Thrones. I was wondering who else has read the books or seen the show. I have read the books but I still haven't gotten around to watch it.

Neither but both sides of the family, our moms watch it and I've caught bits and pieces of the show, but never sat down and paid attention.

I am currently reading the books, I believe I'm on book 4 now. I probably won't watch the show (not my cup of tea), though I have seen some of the actors in other things and loved their work! I didn't expect much from the series when I started reading it, but the author has really improved since the beginning, and the characters are very engaging. Not my favorite series, but definitely one I enjoy!

I started watching season one on DVD. I'll admit I didn't think it was going to be... you know. Like watching porn? lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it's not what I expected. Also I think they cuss way more than they need to. Are the books like this or is this just HBO?

I must say, in the past year, I grew from "Oh these books look interesting I'll give it a go" casual fan to a complete fanatic of both the book and the tv series.

I'm in love with the world, with the characters, with the story. I don't remember the last time a universe drew me in so completely.
