I like my bean dishes to be simple. I don't enjoy the syrupy sweet baked beans that most people think of when they hear "beans".
I usually just cook them from dried and season them with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, or just eat them plain. I do enjoy anko as well, which is adzuki bean paste. I've made it a few times, though it's never as nice as it is in the cooking videos I watch.
