Not at all and I can't see me ever being a feminist!

No. Can honestly say that both me and my hubby tend to not see eye to eye with most (if not all) feminist groups.

I think that this is such a divisive issue because of all of the connotations, beliefs, stereotypes, etc associated with feminism. There's first wave, second wave, third wave, fourth wave feminism...I think. I don't know everything about the movement or the sub movements--but I don't need to.

What is feminism? By definition: it is the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men. I believe in that. So yes. I am a feminist. I don't see eye to eye with every feminist group. But, I am a feminist

I consider myself an egalitarian. I believe everyone should have exactly equal rights under the law, and that all terms of preference should be based entirely upon the individual. So, a woman who did her job superlatively should get equal pay to a man who did the same job at the same level, and neither parent should get automatic preference based on sex in a custody case. I believe in the merit of the individual, rather than the group, and don't believe that there is an issue that is so gender-centric that only one sex is completely united in agreement on it.

My problem with modern feminism is that it assumes one must be politically liberal to care about human rights. I'm a Libertarian, so I'm fairly socially liberal, but I'm also quite conservative fiscally. I really realized that the movement did not want me when NOW announced that any woman who did not support Hillary Clinton was a traitor to the "sisterhood" (which I don't believe in anyway - no woman who I have not chosen is my "sister"). No mention of how any of us might have a problem with any of her policies, just that she was the only choice for women who weren't oppressed, brainwashed tools of the patriarchy. Personally, I find that extremely sexist - assuming that a woman is a better leader because of her sex, rather than because of her positions. Being a woman doesn't make me a better human being than any randomly selected man.

I'm am equalist. I think its wrong to join a group to support your gender. I've heard both sides of the arguments and some people think I am already a feminist until they hear me make fun of women for their crap driving. And some guys think I'm ok until I expect equality. So.... I'm not really one, but not really not one. But I don't think of myself as one.

I definitely consider myself a feminist and was an activist for the cause before I got sick. My views on feminism are kind of complicated though.

Heck yes! I can't imagine not identifying as a feminist. There have been plenty of issues within the movement, but I have met a large enough number of other feminists who oppose homophobia, transphobia, racism, and bigotry in general to have a lot of faith in feminism.
