UPS or USPS

I love the UPS man. I had about 15 packages delivered during the holidays (I got sucked into all those amazon lightening deals) and I was not home for all the deliveries. Instead of leaving them on our front porch in plain sight, the UPS man hid them on my porch either underneath my bench behind flower pots,or inside the wagon, and they would slip a piece of paper under our front door letting us know when and where they dropped it off.

I am NOT a fan of USPS. I live out in the county, but in a development. We have clusters of mailboxes, and there are 2 larger boxes for packages to go in. Packages that don't fit in there are dropped off at our doorstep, The cluster of mailboxes is in front of my neighbors house. Not far at all. I was expecting a package before Thanksgiving, and it was being tracked, the day before thanksgiving it was listed as "out for delivery" by my local post office. On Friday I called the post office, and they said it had came back to the post office because it was "too far" for the postal worker to get to my house from the mailbox. I said I'm in the required 1/2 mile, and in reality I can see the mailboxes from my front window. I wouldnt have made a big deal of it, but living in the county, the post office is a 35 minute drive from my house, and the opposite direction of where everything else is. I ended up having to go pick it up myself. Then one time instead of delivering a package to my doorstep, it was in front of my garage..which for one I can not see the front of my garage anywhere in my house, it sticks out in front of my house, and it was pouring down rain. Luckily my bf noticed it before he pulled into the garage, and didn't run it over. Also our clumsy mailman frequently drops mail on the ground outside the mailbox, and I am always getting other peoples mail.

I prefer UPS because of online tracking and insurance. I can also pick up packages the same day at the local UPS center or change delivery instructions online.

Sweetie, that ain't right at ALL. Have you contacted headquarters about it? Try going above his head. If he answers the phone again, ask to speak to the manager above him. But before you do say "Excuse me, sir. Can I get your name? I want to know who I'm talking to... Ok, thank you. Now transfer me to your boss."

And it's horrible that he says your package is lost! I wouldn't believe him yet but definitely contact someone higher about it.

I've always used USPS. It really doesn't take that long, and unless I'm in a very -large- hurry to get a toy, I don't worry about Next Day. As for UPS, I've had some very bad experiences.

I had to UPS a laptop to the manufacturer. Product came back to me with the same problem it had before, a bad hard drive. So, I sent it in again, it came back with a broken screen, and still a broken hard drive. They didn't fix my hard drive until I sent it back in about the screen... They wouldn't do anything but UPS, so I had to send it back to them via UPS. It came back with a fixed screen, and broken keys.

I like USPS the best. 9 times out of 10 they are the cheapest, and I've never had any problems with them before. Plus since my neighborhood also uses the collective mailboxes, with two big boxes for packages, I don't have to worry about it being left on my doorstep. Plus I have a dog that goes BALLISTIC whenever the doorbell rings, so it's a win win when I get things delievered by USPS. Plus I've had issues with UPS delieveries before. And Fedex has actually sent a package to the right city, but in the wrong state, which is I only use them when there is no other choice.

When ordering, I choose UPS only because it's cheaper for me when ordering from EF (I'm in Canada and the UPS is usually at least $5 cheaper than USPS). Plus the UPS driver for my neighbourhood is super friendly, packages that transfer from USPS to Canada Post get delivered by different people all the time, it's nice to see a familiar face.

Yea, Im going to wait until monday, and have a nice little hail storm of a conversation with someone who doesn't sound like my 15yr old brother playing a video game.

I also talked to EF and have submitted a ticket.

It doesn't really matter to me. I just moved and I like our new mail people so much better than our last guy. He carried the mail around in the back of his truck and I'm almost sure he was drunk a good bit of the time.

I know this is Alabama, but for fuck's sake.

Lol, my bf's mom works for USPS in AL. I'm pretty sure she does a good job with mail, though, as she went from a sub to an actual route.

I use USPS as t what is free with review of order over 59; the time for packages to get here from NJ isn't bad and now that they'll be come from Atlanta should be even faster. I only use UPS when I put an order large enough to get free next day.

For right now, I am just using USPS. When I get an apartment, I will probably switch to UPS, since the USPS people have proven themselves to not care if someone else takes my package or if I get it.

UPS has automatic tracking... but is more expensive than USPS on smaller items.

When I was living in Canada, I always got UPS (since that's the only option). Now that I'm living in Mexico, I use USPS, because that's the only option. USPS definitely takes longer to get to me, especially here (2-3 weeks in my experience) but either way the packages have always arrived in the end.

I like UPS because they check if I'm home first. USPS leaves a note in the mail boxes and you have to go to the leasing office. I mean I'll take what ever is cheapest, but if it's really important to me, UPS.

Whichever is cheapest, since for some reason they all deliver about the same speed around here.

i use usps generally. I gets here faster. If I want it more secure and have it have less of a chance of getting lost I go with UPS

At least in my area and what my friends in other states have said, USPS has really gone downhill. We all have problems with packages arriving damaged, stolen, or late. Anything other than USPS is my preferable method!
