Changes in Editing Program?

Contributor: Owl Identified Owl Identified
I just received an email that said my request to become an editor had been declined. This wouldn't be troublesome to me...except that I haven't submitted any such request. I did many months ago. I was approved at that time and have been an editor since then.

This is why I'm rather confused. Has someone cleaned house on the editing program? Is this an error? I would think that if I was suddenly found to be unfit for editing reviews that I would at least get a personal email. The automated message I received was not very clear.

I would have sent this as a private message to an administrator, but I'm not 100% sure who to send it to. I also was curious if this only happened with me or if it has happened to anyone else.

If anyone can tell me who to contact about this or if anyone has any information, that would be wonderful. Thank you!

I am guessing it is because they are doing the rotation now where some current editors are being released and they are accepting new editors into the program.

As promised a while back on this thread, the editor rotation is commencing.

I apologize that the email is worded the way it is - what it means is that your rotation is at its end, and the next rotation is beginning.

Please feel free to post on this or the other thread, or message me directly if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Ooooh! Okay, that makes perfect sense! I must have missed that in the forum shuffle, but yes, it seems very fair to rotate and let others have a chance. I thought I just got chopped 'cause y'alls didn't like me I feel better, thank you for your prompt response!

I know this is a resolved "issue", but I have a similar question (or request for the typo and wording to be fixed)...

On the EdenTasks page, once I submitted for the editing program, it states that it "may take up 72 hours to...". First, "up to 72 hours to", you're missing a "to". Secondly, I realize you all are busy and I'm just super impatient, but...I applied nearly a month ago and the "up to 72 hours" has most certainly lapsed, several times over! I know the answer to my "why haven't I been accepted or declined yet?" is due to the sheer number of people wanting in, but a form-email sent saying the application will be looked at during the upcoming round on/near XX Date would be great...and I wouldn't feel so ignored.

You can always message or email Sammi about this (sammi@ edenfantasys.com) as well. My understanding is that we're working on changing the wording on the page to more accurately reflect the current situation. When it first started, it was accurate, but now with having rotations and us holding on to applications, it isn't.

Yep, I already did that. That's why I know why it's taking longer...the time frame and typo just really bug me, especially a typo on a page about editing typos.

We do have a request in to get the wording changed and the page updated, so hopefully it will be updated soon
