Need Advice for A Male Interested in Prostate Massagers..

Contributor: Breas Breas
So last night my partner mentioned that he would not mind trying a prostate massager.. which is surprising because before last night, he didn't seem to want anything to do with anything near the bum.

Anyway, that being said, he's never used any bum products before (beads, plugs, etc) and I was wondering what would be most comfortable for him since he is a complete newbie to bum toys. He said he would want to try the Pspot massagers, but should he start with something like beads first? (I'm a female and don't know much about this sort of thing, but want to make sure whatever he tries is comfortable for him).

Also, since he has never tried this, he may not enjoy it, so if there are any suggestions on a decently priced product that is good for beginners, that would be great too. An expensive product would be something we'd get later on if he enjoyed it, but for now it's an experiment and may only be used once so we wouldn't want to spend an arm and a leg just in case. We also wouldn't want to sacrifice quality though either.

I'd love to hear some suggestions, tips, info from everyone, but especially from males who have used such products before.

Thanks!

I made a post about this a few days back!

Out of those, we got the Nexus Glide. It looks like a smaller version of the Nexus Excel.

Husband's thoughts were that it felt good but that it was bigger than he expected, even being the smallest one I could find. Prior to the Glide, he had used the small end of the Pure Wand and the small end of the Provoke.

We used the Glide during sex and he said it was difficult to keep it in while thrusting. He also said the tails of the Glide were a little uncomfortable because he could only kneel in so many ways with it in. Just laying down on his own, he said it was no issue.

He wants to get one without the tail, like the Nexus Gyro. He thinks this will be a better fit for using during sex. There is also a G Play Medium that's smaller for beginners, but not as small as the Glide.

So if he's going to be using it by himself or laying down, the Glide is a good choice. If it's for sex, it may get in the way some or be a hassle. I still think it's a nice starting point because it's small.

I would also recommend, if he decides he likes his prostate being stimulated, the Pure Wand. This has been my husband's favorite and he says it gives the best result. You can't really use it during sex though because it weighs a ton. It's great for solo or foreplay.

If he has never had any sort of prostate play before, I wouldn't even worry about getting a toy for now. Make sure he even enjoys prostate massage first. You can do this with just your finger. Some general tips:

1. Make sure he is very relaxed. If he's not relaxed and comfortable, he will not enjoy it and it may be uncomfortable rather than pleasurable.

2. Lots of foreplay will help. You don't even necessarily need to stimulate his penis and it's actually probably better that you don't. As men get aroused with the penis, we tend to tighten up in anticipation of climax.

3. Lots of external perineal massage/stroking, even rimming if you are comfortable with that will help prepare him.

4. Use lots of lube. Use more lube. If/when you do insert a finger, the prostate is a small walnut shaped gland at the base of the bladder. With your finger in, it should be towards his front side and a few inches in. As he gets more aroused, it will get larger and be easier to locate. If he is laying on his back, you can use a "come here" motion with your index finger to hit the prostate.

5. You don't necessarily need to do any thrusting, although some men do enjoy that as well.

Then if he does enjoy it, you can consider trying a toy. You could even use a small dildo if you have one (1" or less for a beginner). Hope this helps an good luck.

Before sinking money into toys you may not like, have you tried just fingers and lube?

This! Best place to start for sure.

Also have him read my work shop.

Until you both know where and what feels good on the prostate I also would wait on getting toys. You won't know if he responds better to a soft touch, hard pressure, just something pressing against it or movement. Lubed fingers are best to start with. He should clean 1st. If you have long nails you will want to cut & file them, latex glove would be safer than not. you could have him in a warm bath & then search for it. It will be a few inches in on the belly side of the body. Good luck and have fun.
If he feels like he has to pee you are hitting it well. Either cum will dribble out of his penis (with limited penile stimulation)or he will have a mind blowing full body orgasm or both. If you play with his penis I wouldn't over stimulate it pay more attention to the prostate.

Tons of good advice here. From my perspective I can only say that we started out with a small toy that wasn't a prostate massager. I have to say that I am still not convinced about prostate toys as such because I like the sensations associated with stretching and fullness too. So I guess that a small toy for warmup and fingers for a prostate feeling and massage is a good start. Some solo play is also very educational in this area as the man tends to understand better how to approach this type of play and can communicate to the partner what is desired.

But as mentioned in this thread: preparation, foreplay, foreplay and good lubrication Have fun.

You will probably have to sit down with him and ask him which one he thinks might feel good. In the end its his decision.
