so I'm quite new to all this stuff. Could using a cock ring cause any damage to the penis or the systems that make it erect? Like once you use a cock ring is your normal erection less (obviously possibly less than with the cock ring) but is it less than it normally would be had you not used one? Safety concerns are what I'm getting at I guess.

If used properly I wouldn't expect any damage. As a young man, the thought never crossed my mind. Since I've gotten older - they are pretty much a necessity for me now. Start with a flexible silicone 2" ring - then once you get the hang of it - go for a smooth metal one like the Omega.
