I have both, but don't really like either. I picked Hitachi because the Smart Wand is expensive and not as powerful. Therefore, I would go with the Hitachi.

I also have both, and while the Smart Wand is silicone covered, waterproof and quieter (plus rechargeable), I prefer the Hitachi. Plus the Hitachi is cheaper.
