I have never tried those. The thought of spraying something in my throat that makes it go numb is very unappealing to me. Once I ate a super effective throat mint and I thought I was suffocating. Not a pleasant feeling.

I had some, but I never tried it because when I was dating/sleeping with men, I really never had issues with deep throating.

However, I found that the deep throat spray worked GREAT for when I had a sore throat from a cold, allergies, or sinuses.

I never would have thought of using the spray for a sore throat!! haha I might just get some for that purpose.

I was afraid that the problem of feeling suffocated would arise too. Also, wouldn't my partner get the numbing sensation too? Did yours?

I have not used them, but if you're wanting one that numbs your throat, look for ingredients like benzocaine. It is the active ingredient in Shunga's male desensitizer and last year, I had a toothache so horrible bad that I was jumping up and down, standing on my head (yes, I was going fucking mad!) Lol. Got desperate and sprayed some of it in my mouth and I'll tell ya, my throat was numb enough that I could've been choking and wouldn't know it. LOL. Benzocaine is super for numbing. You may want to make sure it's totally safe though, safe for you as different ingredients affect different people. I'm not telling you to use the male desensitizer in your throat though. Just telling you how benzocaine does numb.

A lot of numbing sprays only have menthol, which does little to numb. Not sure which to recommend since the ones here don't seem to really have much ingredients that give a really numbing effect. Maybe the Max oral spray, but I can't tell if it'd actually numb you or not. Read reviews on the different ones before buying.

The thing that turns me off of numbing sprays is that they can't turn off your gag reflex completely. Feeling that gagging sensation is what lets you know you have inserted something too far, and you are close to throwing up. I just imagine how it would be if you didn't get that warning...

It really only works for the kind with the benzocaine in them since that's what numbs it. But it works really well and tends to taste way better than Cepacol and all those other sore throat sprays.
