Has anyone ever held/been to a sex toy party?

I was invited to one and declined. We weren't into toys much back then, and although I didn't want to be judgmental, the woman hosting the party (whom I know well) would have the parties with her preschool and grammar school aged children in the room. And she also invited one of my then teenaged daughters! EEEK! (I am good friends with the consultant's sister, and she told me that the woman often used the display models herself. Not AT the parties, but she used the toys for display in her own sex life. No.......just......no. ) I know this is NOT the way most consultant run their businesses, and most are much more professional.

I just felt very uncomfortable in that setting. I am all for being honest with children about sex, My Man and I are very open about sex, but our personal sex lives are not up for discussion, as I feel that goes over some boundaries that parents need to have with children.

I think if it has been an "Adults Only" sex toy party I MAY have gone, but my tastes are eclectic as well as sometimes hard core, and I prefer to buy my toys on my own time and don't know how I'd feel about my neighbors and friends knowing my personal proclivities and my kinks. less

I do Athena's Home Novelties parties, some of the stuff is a tad more expensive than their counterparts here on edens but they do have a lot of stuff that is completely unique to them. Not to mention hosting has some good benefits and they do give their people a LOT of training. Also I'd like to mention that even the BLINDFOLD I use with the pin the junk on the hunk game while I'm in the ordering room is NOT used for ANYTHING but party games! I'd love to slap the wench who displayed used toys...*shudders* I make a 35% commission on my sales with them, so the money is good and the hostess gets 10-15% of the party sales towards free stuff. And if the party goes over say $200 in sales I give my hostesses a free bottle of Pure Instinct or an Amazing Hot Heart. Ive got a party next month that the hostess wants a Pure Instinct and to play games, I work with my hostess and try and make it fun. less

I have heard of sex toy parties before, but never attended one or held one of my own. So I was just wondering if anyone knows what a sex toy party is anyways? Is it where you purchase sex toys? Do you take your own toys and show them off or something? I mean I don't know what it all consists of. It might be something fun to hold, but I don't know how it works, so can anyone explain what it is and what you do and all that? less
