Cool design; too tight!

I was excited about receiving this shirt, especially since it was free with my purchase (and who doesn't love free stuff, right?). I normally wear a men's or unisex M or L, and I read that this shirt ran a little small, so I got the L. Wow!
It fits like a smaller M or a S. I am disappointed because this is a really cool shirt, but I won't be wearing it. It was all around tight, then the sleeves were awkwardly longer (around me elbows), while remaining tight here too. I suggest ordering at least one size up for this shirt if you want to be able to breathe in it!
Other than the fitting, the shirt is great. As you can see from the picture, it has brighter colors on a black background. This makes the design really pop. The material seems to be very high equality. It is thicker while remaining soft and nice to wear.
The design is also rather neutral, so both men and women who want to show off their love for Eden Fantasys can wear it. With this said, it is a unisex shirt. Perhaps Eden Fantasys should make two different shirts - one with sizes specifically for men and one with sizes specifically for women. This might solve their sizing dilemma.
One other plus is that it is supposedly pre-shrunk, so it should not get any smaller. Look for a follow-up review when I wash it for the first time!
I really wish this shirt followed conventional sizing because I would love to wear it! Even if Eden fantasys sacrificed a little bit of quality and made the shirt larger, it would still be an amazing shirt as the quality is great.
I hope to see a remake of this shirt soon!

I normally wear a medium or a large. I ordered this shirt in XL so that I could wear it lounging and for sleep. Its so small though. It came about a medium or a small. Im afraid to wash it and see it shrink

I have three of these - one large, and two XL. The large was a bit snug, but the XL are fine, and have held up to repeated washings well.

There were actually a couple different types of EF shirts. The XL and larger shirts were sized a little smaller than expected, but the L and smaller shirts were right on with their sizes.

Why does it seem like I received one shirt made out of a thinner and softer material than the other shirts I received? Has anyone else experienced this?

The first was very thin, stretchy, and really a great shirt since it is sized so small. The second was a very thick material with no stretch to it at all! I cannot even get that one on, even though it should fit exactly like the first one I received. The third shirt is wearable, but again is thicker material than the first, at least this one has a bit more stretch to it than the second one!
I would wager a guess that they are ordering these made up using the "most cost effective" material available, which would account for the varied material (which ever one is cheaper to make that day).
I know that I was happy with the first one, so I ordered more to "modify" some of them as I had seen in a video here. As it stands now...I have one to hide in the closet, one to tuck away for "emergency t-shirt needs", and one I can actually wear and enjoy.
So long as they are offering these free with purchase, I may get a few more (they'll make good rags if nothing else), but I wouldn't spend the $15 asking price on them with the materials being so varied from order to order! -
Good to know, and I hope the one I'll get in my next order will be a soft material.

I ended up getting a new one with another purchase. This time a 2X. It fits like a L! So this is good, but a M or L should have fit me! Plus, the sleeves are an awkward length (slightly longer than normal short-sleeved shirts).
