A Golden Fail
Overall I was disappointed with the Gold Laced G, but again it was my fault for waiting so long to get it and I think it would still please others that have not as much anal experience as me (due to it's smaller girth I don't see this being much use for vaginal use by the way) so I'm giving it a 3 stars. I've had my eye on the Gold Laced G ever since I joined EF and read its reviews so when I ordered it about a month ago I was expecting some glorious textured sensations of epic proportions... This glass dildo is one of those times where I expected too much as well as it seems my purchase was too little too late.
The first thing I noticed when I got the Gold Laced G was that it was a lot smaller than I was hoping, I thought it wasn't a bad thing but it indeed turned out it was. Over the past several months I've cycled through anal toys at an alarming rate going from 'its a bit tight' at 1 1/4" to 'just right' at 2" diameter wise with my toys so I suppose its my fault that I waited so long to get this glass dildo which measures up at a 1" diameter and 6.5" in length.
The Gold Laced G is called the Gold Laced G because its entire shaft is covered in golden textured lattices which adds a slightly raised texture to the dildo and can be quite pleasurable although I barely noticed it myself. Even with the textures the Gold Laced G was too small for my experienced rear (although there are days I'm not as relaxed and its almost too much, every body is different).
When I did use it the best stimulation I got was shallow but fast thrusting in and out angling it slightly upward, though as I mentioned earlier the stimulation wasn't anything to write home about.
Care for glass dildos are simple. You can wash with a mild soap and water or use toy cleaner. However, you do need to use condoms if sharing. You can use almost any type of lubricant you wish with Pyrex Glass toys but remember very little is needed due to most being very smooth to insert. Pyrex Glass is a very unforgiving material, so with that in mind the 1" diameter of this toy could feel bigger than it is as to some people as it has no give whatsoever.
The Gold Laced G can also be cooled down by running it through cold water or under warm water to warm it up. While the temperature effects are temporary (until it warms or settles down to your body's natural temperature) this is indeed a nice bonus feature that some may enjoy quite a lot. It doesn't hurt that the Gold Laced G is a gorgeous dildo to just look at either!

This dildo just doesn't it cut it for me, it seems I really do need a relatively full feeling to enjoy anal toys and sadly this one still has yet to produce that even with the addition of textures added to the mix; its a gorgeous product for sure but it still just isn't for me as I've outgrown my 'beginner boots'.

It really does depend on the user. Most people LOVE glass and are very loyal to it. Myself and a few others don't find it enjoyable at all. The best way to know is really to start off with a cheaper glass toy, IMO. :)

Thanks for the review. Sorry this didn't work out for you. I like it for anal play sometimes, but then again I am only a little more than a beginner with anal. I also like it for vaginal use when I want something smaller.

Well, I'd be very reluctant to say that it's not good for vaginal use (especially if you do not have that orifice). Not every female-bodied person likes to have substantial girth or length for penetration. Which is good or there'd be a lot of lonely guys out there.
That said, glass can be shared without a condom if you sanitize it between partners/orifices. Glass can be cleaned with more than just soap and water, it can also be sanitized by boiling, putting it in the top rack of your dishwasher, or by spraying it down with a 10% bleach solution and properly rinsing.
Warming it under warm-to-hot water is the best way to heat it up, but you can also put glass toys in a bowl of ice water for a more substantial temperature difference that will likely last a little longer than simply running it under the cool tap. ALWAYS, you want to test your glass toy's temperature on a sensitive area like your elbow before inserting it into ANY orifice.
