Beginner Beads
This set of beads is great for a beginner looking to try anal beads or begin experimenting with anal, without spending a lot of money.Published: May 18, 2009
Pros:
Good for beginners, 2 different sized sets.
Cons:
Rigid, stiff, Smaller circumference of beads, Jelly material more difficult to clean.
The purple anal jelly beads were one of my first two sets of anal beads. However, as an intermediate with anal-experience, I found these beads to be more of a beginner set. I had no problem getting 4-5 beads in the first time, and I'd like there to be a little bit more of a challenge. A nice feature with these beads, though, which I think is great for a beginner, is that there are two different-sized sets of 5 beads. If you try the smaller set of 5 beads, and have no problem, then you can try the larger set of 5 beads. If you have difficulty with the smaller set, you can then work up to the larger set.
Since the these beads are made with "jelly" you have to be mindful not to share these beads. They should be used for your own personal use. They are pretty easy to clean with warm water and a little soap. However, the jelly feel is also nice for a beginner. You may want to try lubrication with them, but I did not need to use any, and enjoyed them the same.
One down side to the jelly beads is that they are connected by the same firmer jelly material, it's almost "stick-like" making it very rigid. If you want something that's more rigid and stiff, you may like a butt plug more, or want to try a butt plug if you like these beads. I prefer a more "string-like" connection between beads, such as in the "power balls." If you are a more advanced anal bead user, these beads are probably not for you.
These beads have an excellent price, however, for someone looking to try anal beads for the first time, or perhaps someone looking to begin experimenting with anal play in general. If you don't like them, then you didn't waste a ton of money. It's not a major investment, but may open the door to new interests and further exploration.

How far is too far for insertion before it becomes uncomfortable? I've actually NEVER used anal beads and have always wanted to!

Every person is different. Go slow and insert one at a time. Use lots of lube as you go! Enjoy I was very skeptical about them at first but now I'm in love with anal beads and have actually opened up more to the idea of all anal play!

Quote: Are they painful and what does it feel like?Anal play shouldnt hurt use plenty of lube always. Ive never used anal beads but i always thought the pleasure was from the fullness when you have them in and then you can feel them move when you pull them out during orgasm.

Poorly constructed anal beads can hurt because of ridges or the rope. A better choice is one of the silicone bead stick toys, with the added benefit that they're easier to insert and more hygenic.
Flexi-Felix is well regarded, as are the Tantus Ripple toys.
