Classic says it all.

This toy is great for beginners or even as a warm up toy to something bigger and better. The size and shape are both excellent for keeping the plug in place and it does a great job. The down side is that it isn't really meant to last all that long because it is made out of cheap rubber. If you're looking for something that is disposable then this is great, but if you want it to last I say get the silicone version.

Use

Being a butt plug, this toy was obviously designed for anal use, but you could also use it vaginally if you wanted. A plug is designed to be inserted and then hang out for a while, and this plug does an outstanding job of that if you're using it anally. Vaginally I can't vouch for because I don't use it that way, but if you have some super-human kegels it could probably work.

While the square base would be pretty noticeable under tight clothing, you could probably wear it out in public pretty successfully, although I haven't done that before.

This toy can be used by pretty much anyone with an anus and anyone who enjoys putting things in it. Doc Johnson really did a great job on this plug as far as the shape and design. Literally the only thing I don't like about it is the material, but I'll get to that later.

Material / Texture

The Classic butt plug is made out of rubber, so it is very porous and cannot be sterilized. This toy should not be shared without a condom. And even if you don't share it I would use a condom because it is going in your butt after all. This is really the only flaw that I find with this toy.

The plug is made out of a squishy outer layer and a firmer innner core, making it flexible and a little easier to insert. Having two layers allows the plug to compress under the pressure of the anal muscles and then go back to it's original ahape once those muscles relax. So even if this looks a little on the large side for you, it does squeeze down to a certain extent. This was my first anal plug and after using another toy to warm up a little first, the plug slid in very easily. It is also completely smooth so that's another plus for beginners.

When I first took mine out of the package it had a really strong rubber smell, but after I aired it out for a few hours it dissipated a pretty significant amount.

I've had the toy for almost two years now and it hasn't really degraded in quality all that much. I've taken very good care of it and used a condom every time, but even with all the care, this toy isn't really meant to last years and years and mine is probably towards the end of it's life. I'm planning on replacing it with the Big End, which is pretty much the same design just made out of silicone instead. I believe it's an extra 1/4 inch in circumference, though.

Design / Shape / Size

The Classic has a nice tapered tip to make insertion easier and it has a nice gradual taper so you can go as slow as you need to, or faster if you're a little more advanced and using this as a warm-up toy. The toy itself is 5 1/4 inches in circumference or 1 3/4 inches wide but don't let that number scare you. It really isn't all that big and it's compressibility makes it seem a little smaller when inserting. It's 5 1/2 inches in length with 5 inches of that being insertable and a half inch thick base.

The shape of this toy is perfect for keeping it in. It comes to a nice wide point and then tapers down pretty quickly after that. I've had no trouble keeping it in, even while having an orgasm or standing up and walking around.

The rectangular base isn't really the most comfortable for long term wear as it doesn't sit between the cheeks very well. Maybe if it were a little skinnier and just slightly more flexible. But of course, not so much that you have a chance of losing it.

Performance

As I said before, Doc Johnson did a great job on the shape of this toy. It stays in place when you want it to, but also comes out easily when you're done. Plugs are meant to stay in place and this one does just that. The base could be a teeny bit smaller and more flexible but other than that, this toy is seriously great. It also might benefit just slightly from a suction cup base to make it easier for self-insertion.

Care and Maintenance

You can wash this toy with warm soapy water or a toy cleaner/wipe. You shouldn't boil it or put it in the dishwasher because the high heat might melt it.

Also, you should only use water or silicone based lubes with this toy because oil based ones will break down the material.

I've stored this toy just in my night stand next to other types of material and it hasn't ruined any of them so far. It's a pretty low maintenance toy overall and I appreciate that fact. I'm a low maintenance kind of person anyway so I like easy toys to care for.

Packaging

The packaging for this toy was pretty basic like most DJ toys. It came it a plastic clamshell style package with a paper insert included. The paper had pretty minimal information on it. Mostly just where it was made and a little about the company. But the whole thing was recyclable so that's a plus!

Personal comments

I really do like this toy, but the only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars is what it's made out of. I hate having to use condoms with my toys because they could potentially be a health hazard. Plus, condoms are expensive and I have to admit I don't use this toy as much as I would like because of that very fact. I'm looking into buying the silicone version of this toy because it would put my mind at ease and I would feel so much better about using it.
