Goldilocks Syndrome: This One is Tooo Big!

Jolly Jack is a quality, well-designed toy that should be sure to please most connoisseurs of anal pleasure. Even though it is a little big for me at this point in time, I'm giving it a full 5/5 stars.

Use

Made by Happy Valley, Jolly Jack is a butt plug designed to stimulate the anal area. It can be used by either men or women, solo or as part of couple's play. Since the fit is so secure, you could even wear it under clothing out in public, if you so desire. Because it's longer than the typical butt plug, it can also be used like a dildo, for thrusting. It really is a versatile toy. The only group I would caution against buying this toy would be anal beginners or people who don't do anal play very often. Even though the measurements don't sound very big, the shape and the firmness make it feel a lot larger. I'm no stranger to anal play, and I found it uncomfortable.

Material / Texture

Jolly Jack is made of silicone, an inert, non-porous material. There is no odor whatsoever. It ranks a "10" on Eden's safety scale, meaning it is one of the safest materials you can get. This is extremely important when it comes to anal toys especially; you want something that will not harbor bacteria. Silicone varies a lot in terms of firmness and texture, and this is some of the firmest silicone I have found. When pressing as hard as I can with my fingers, there is barely any give. The texture does have a fair amount of drag, so you will have to use extra lube with this.

Design / Shape / Size

Jolly Jack is a bit longer than most butt plugs, with 5 1/4" total length and 4 1/2" insertable length. This allows it a little more versatility in that it can be used for thrusting, which most butt plugs can't. The three bulbs stimulate the anus, especially when the toy is being moved in and out. While it looks like a moderate size, due to the bulbs and the firmness of the material, it feels a lot larger. I can insert the toy down to the third bulb, but it feels uncomfortable and I can't hold it for very long. If I had anal sex more often, I probably could. But keep in mind this feels a lot different than a penis.

Jolly Jack is not realistic at all. It has more of a whimsical/artistic look to it. I would not call it 'discreet' because virtually anyone could tell what it is right away. I think it would be fine for travel, though, since it's relatively small and has no motor to suddenly turn on and make noise.

Performance

Because of the rounded end on this toy, I think most people will have some difficulty inserting it. I recommend using a smaller, tapered toy, or fingers to warm up first. Once in, it provides a nice filling sensation-if you can handle it. You can choose to either keep it stationary as a butt plug, or thrust it in and out. I find it a little more comfortable as a plug, so I don't thrust much with it--your mileage, as always, may vary.

Those who enjoy vaginal penetration while wearing a plug will be happy to note that the base doesn't interfere with penetration. It also stays nicely in place, whether you're having sex, masturbating, or walking around.

Care and Maintenance

To clean this toy, simply wash it with soap and water, or use toy cleaner if you prefer. You can also completely sterilize it by boiling it for ten minutes or wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution, then rinsing thoroughly. Sterilizing is highly recommended if you share.

Silicone may not play nice with other silicone, so it's a good idea to keep your silicone toys separate in storage and NEVER use silicone lube on them.

Packaging

Jolly Jack came packaged in a small plastic bag with a cardboard topper. It was nice to see less packaging waste for once, but if you are looking for long-term storage this is not it. Since you can see the toy inside, it is NOT discreet packaging. There are a few instructions on the cardboard, not much.

Follow-up commentary
Poor Jolly still doesn't get much use; he's just too big for me. I'm on the hunt for a good alternative.
