If potato chips can have ridges, why not butt plugs?

A quality plug with interesting features and vibrations - stays in place during intercourse. The ridges are a nice change from smooth plugs.

Use

The Tantus Zing is a intermediate size vibrating butt plug, 1.5" in diameter, with 4 shallow ridges that provide that little extra Zing! on entry. The small removable bullet vibe in the base gives additional sensations throughout the toy that a non-vibe plug just can't match. If you are new to anal play, a little warm up with fingers or a smaller toy may be necessary, but I suspect most people will be able to handle this with no problem.

Here's a use hint - the small bullet vibe can be difficult to insert/remove from the toy. Put a small drop of lube on the vibe before inserting it into the plug, and you'll have no problems getting it in or back out.

Material / Texture

This toy, like all of Tantus' silicone toys, is top quality silicone. The body is a little firmer than the Ryder plug because of the ridges. The bullet vibe makes the base firmer, but it's still very comfortable. There are no manufacturing seams or other issues to deter from the toy. Being silicone, it is non-porous, and should only be used with non-silicone based lubes. The toy had no smell after a quick "new toy" wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap.

Design / Shape / Size

If you've read my review of the Tantus Ryder plug here, then you probably realize I was a little "gun shy" (plug shy? butt shy?) of a plug sliding all the way in. Thankfully, that's not an issue with the Zing. The base is a complete circle around the plug, and significantly thicker than the wings on the Ryder. After insertion, I had no fear that the plug would insert completely like the Ryder did. Now, if you are looking to conceal it under clothes, that circle is probably going to be somewhat visible and you may want to consider something else. For any other anal play, though, I highly recommend the Zing.

If you remove the bullet vibe, the neck can be a little "floppy", making inserting the Zing a bit more challenging, but nothing major. With the vibe in, the neck is stiff and it's easier to insert the Zing.

One of the other reviews did not like the ridges on the Zing. I thought they were great! They add a little extra sensation when inserting the plug, and I think they helped a little to retain the plug during heavy thrusting.

On that subject, this is one of my main requirements for a plug - I want something that is going to stay put during intercourse, not go flying across the room. The Zing performed well; only once did the rascal try to escape, and a quick push back in fixed it in place.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Ryder does give a nice firm feeling once it's inside. The initial "pop" of entering is very satisfying, the ridges give a nice stimulation while entering and the soft texture of the silicone makes it very comfortable.

The small bullet vibe slides into the base of the plug and has a single speed off/on button at the bottom. The vibe does protrude about 1/4" beyond the base of the plug, so you probably can't sit down on anything firm with the vibe inserted. You can push the button halfway for a quick buzz, or push it all the down and turn it on and off.

Like most bullet vibes, it takes watch batteries, and tends to have shallow "buzzy" vibrations. It's not quiet - you would be able to hear it through a closed door.

Care and Maintenance

As with all quality silicone toys, a good wash with soap and water is fine for us married folk. If I was sharing it with multiple people, then I probably boil it or run it through the dishwasher (only air dry, no heat). The ridges are a little more effort to clean than a smooth silicone toy, but noting major. The bullet vibe has a gasket, so in theory it would be OK to wash it with soap and running water, but you might want to open it up and make sure no water (or other fluids) got inside. We store the Zing in a ziploc bag (with the batteries removed from the vibe) to keep it from being up against any other toys in the toybox or sucking up every piece of lint or pet hair in the room.

Packaging

Tantus toys come in a nice clear plastic box, suspended in a clamshell package in the box. The outside box can be a pain to open sometimes, with 3 plastic tabs on the top of the box that need to be released before you can remove the inner packaging.

Personal comments

I love Tantus toys (well, almost all of them :-). The Zing is a quality addition for any toybox, and will serve you well for years to come.
