Use

The Jolly Jack by Happy Valley is an intermediate-sized plug, that can be worn for short or semi-long term periods of time, as the neck is comfortably long and the base is comfortably wide.

This can be worn during sex (by a woman) for a double penetration simulation or (by a man) for extra stimulation, during masturbation, doing the dishes, or whatever idea you have in mind. I've worn mine on walks, during movies, while talking with my significant other... use your imagination.

Despite being a butt plug, the Jolly Jack is surprisingly good for some light thrusting. The bloops feel amazing going in and out, a great little "pop."

Material / Texture

This plug is made of super smooth, non-matte silicone, making it tasteless, odorless, ultra hygienic, nonporous, phthalate- and latex-free. There is no texture to speak of, not even a seam!

This variety of Happy Valley silicone is moderately firm. It has some give to it, but it's not squishy. I would say it is less firm than Tantus silicone. It feels less dense than Tantus silicone, as well.

Design / Shape / Size

The Jolly Jack features 3 graduated bulbs, or bloops, kind of in an anal-beads fashion. It also features a long neck, and a comfortable base.

It is just over 5" in total length, 4.5" of which is insertable. This is a fairly long butt plug; the longest of mine so far.

The first bloop is 1.25" long, and the second and third bloops are both 1" long. They start out with 1.25" in diameter (on the first bloop), narrow to a .75" resting spot, widen to 1.38" (with a .88" resting spot) and finally 1.5" in diameter on the second and last bloop, respectively. The neck is 1" in diameter, and the base is 1.25" wide, making it very comfortable between the cheeks. Any wider, and I think the base would have been too wide.

Obviously, Happy Valley has put a lot of thought into the Jolly Jack's dimensions, making it a wonderfully intermediate butt plug, or a buttplug for normal usage. I would suggest it to those who are wanting to step up to a larger size, since each bloop is so accommodating.

Performance

I knew this was going to be long, longer than any of my other plugs, but when I first saw it, I thought it was going to be uncomfortably long. It's not. It's filling, but not overly so, nor uncomfortably so. I felt fine in using a smaller dildo in my vagina, in companion to the plug. It felt great, each bulb as I thrust the dildo.

The neck is very long, making this suitable for long term wear. I found it to start getting uncomfortable after a couple of hours, but your mileage may vary.

As for a light/slow thrusting plug/dildo, it works surprisingly well. The long length definitely helped in that arena; most plugs aren't long enough to allow for thrusting. The bulges are divine.

Care and Maintenance

Because the Jolly Jack is silicone, the standard silicone rules apply. To sanitize, boil for 3-5 minutes, use a 10% bleach solution, or put it in the dishwasher (top rack, no soap), otherwise, if you aren't sharing it with a partner, clean it with hot water and soap. Use a condom if sharing in the same session.

No silicone lubes, unless you do a base test.

This toy is a lint collector, so store it in a lint-free pouch, a Ziploc, or in the plastic bag in which it came. I suggest not storing it with lesser materials, as they could degrade over time.

Packaging

When I received my first Happy Valley toy, I was disappointed in the packaging. I felt it was "cheap," and not enough. Now I realize the simplicity in Happy Valley packaging. It's just a clear plastic bag and a cardboard topper, connected to the bag with staples. It's completely recyclable, and reusable: something Happy Valley decided specifically. I applaud EdenFantasys for choosing the plastic bag over the plastic box--which would have created more waste.

All that said, the 100% post consumer cardboard topper includes cleaning instructions, lube compatibility and various warnings. For a full 1" of space, they used it well.
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal
    • Recyclable

Personal comments

Happy Valley is an amazing company worth supporting. They're environmentally friendly, and make amazing silicone toys. I think, so far, this is my favorite butt plug (which isn't saying much, since I only own 3, but you know what I mean).

Objectively and subjectively, this is worth every single one of the 5 stars.
Follow-up commentary
Jolly Jack is still my go-to butt plug for everyday anal play. It's very moderately sized, just in my median girth, so, it's filling, but does not stretch. The Jolly Jack falls in the middle of the spectrum in every way, and I love it.

The silicone is holding up fantastically, as silicone does.
